lot of people are up in arms over LIJ's treatment on NYD. I'm usually the first on the push Naito bandwagon but really don't see an issue. Naito was pinned by Elgin only after interference by Dragon Lee while Hiromu still has never been pinned. I don't personally understand the trios title decision from today either but those titles really don't mean much anyway and BUSHI doesn't really need protected. The only person they've really ever helped is David Finlay.

I'm on board with the big Suzuki-gun return for now as well. MiSu vs. Okada for the title hasn't been done since I think Dontaku 2013 and KES is probably the best tag team the company has. Yes, Iizuka and Taichi are trash but hopefully they're not really focused on much in a company with more depth. Kanemaru is often uninspired but he has talent and hopefully he shows a bit of a spark now that he's out of a company he never really wanted to go back to.

yeah the proper word would be re-debut, but it's Dave, y'know? The return of a 7 person stable that includes a guy main eventing your next big show plus an incredibly talented guest star set to resume one of the best rivalries of recent years qualifies as big

I'm skeptical that this is happening myself, but LIGERFEVER's afraid that NJPW totally screwed over CMLL and is sending them Yoshitatsu in exchange for DL and that he's gonna stay for a fairly lengthy term like Dorada did.

Super No Vacancy posted:

my rationale is LIJ does vicious things like neck chairshots or targeting elgin's eye whereas bullet club basically does hijinx to try to steal wins, and dresses up as the ghostbusters or the terminator. naito is a cool heel but kenny is like barelllly a heel at all

suzuki-gun's def at the most heelish end. I'd rate LIJ and BC the same. Both have some straightforward heel members (BC's Tongans and Yujiro , EVIL and SANADA for LIJ), with cool heel leaders who are happy to soak up the adulation of their unit's fans. LIJ can be more vicious true, but also is more likely to be cheered over faces. Kenny's very over and absolutely a star, but I've never seen him get definitively cheered over someone like a Tana, Okada, or KUSHIDA the way LIJ dudes have.

I think KES is arguably the best team in the division. Desperado and TAKA are ok for junior depth and can be fun in the right situation.. Iizuka's terrible and Taichi's arguably worse because they'd be more likely to focus on him. Iizuka'a 50 year old bad brawler. Taichi's in his mid 30s and is just a lovely worker who I've never seen have an impressive singles match in years. Imagine basically the jr equivalent of Yujiro in that the only appeal is his valet(s). I am a fan of both their themes tho.

Kanemaru's the mystery. His NOAH work was absolutely terrible but he obviously did not want to be there and he's shown flashes of still being a competent worker. Hopefully he shows more now that he's out of there.

I'm higher on this than most people who have watched NOAH over the last two years because I really don't think they'll be booked the same way in NJPW and we'll be seeing less of Taichi and Iizuka in prominent roles.
