Interesting that this is now coming out because on Facebook, when I see ads for NJ World, it's often Okada, Omega and Cody. So NJ is definitely promoting him above someone like Michael Elgin or Naito to the American audience.

Cody as the new leader of BC does zero for me but hey maybe he'll finally start having those ****+ level matches this year. Probably a safe bet he'll be in G1 now.

crashed early and misssed the card announcements.

Everyone assumed ZSJ wasgoign to be the one to beat Shibata for the RevPro belt when it was assumed the matchwould take place in England. Not sure if that's still the case with a jr making his debut now.

Another possibility would be Suzuki as he's working across from Shibata on the next Korakuen just as he did the Makabe show.

Yeah and even Devitt was never really promoted out of the jr division. His win over Tana (due to heavy interference) and IWGP title shot against Okada came while he was still jr champ and the guy he put over on the way out ended up being Taguchi.

He wouldn't have pinned Goto in a match with three CHAOS juniors one night after pinning Shibata if he wasn't going to be a heavyweight. Yes, the NEVER title is technically openweight but they'd never debut a junior that way. Look at Hiromu's reintroduction in November if you want to see how they'd push a junior as a star.
