So thanks to not just Wiz but all Pdox game devs that bother to remember this dead gay comedy forum and even the ones that don't and do a very good job. Most devs wouldn't go through half the effort to interact, take and integrate feedback of their audience, or would usually prefer to filter it through 3rd parties to the point where things would be lost in the translation, and it absolutely shows in your games getting steadily better through the years in, really, every case I've played so far.

All I know about the periodic table is that if you're on Pointless, and a chemistry question comes up, you're going to $$WIN BIG$$ if you go with most elements you learned about from Star Control 2. Yttrium and Ytterbium especially.

Civ VI is pretty good in my opinion. Way fuckin better than V or BE at launch, and better than BE ever got.

Still, I've put a few dozen hours into VI since I got it for Christmas though. It didn't grab me like IV, sure, but I can't say I dislike the game or anything. I like almost everything VI does, I just wish it did more of it all.

Comparing the growth rate with a non-full food stockpile with a full one shows that it does indeed make a notable difference, but there should definitely be a simple tooltip addition saying just how much.

I've only had a couple of factions emerge so far, but given that the faction happiness equates to the member pops's base happiness, I've found myself giving far more attention than I used to to their opinions. I've had slaves since I started because of that Syncretic Evolution trait, and suddenly a third of my empire decides xenos are cool, good, and I'm seriously thinking about abolishing slavery to undo the massive malus.

I mean, I know Paradox has a reputation for releasing bare bones stuff and adding a lot during expansions, but goddamn it's like a completely different game.

I mean I was up to 439 hours before Utopia dropped so it's not like I didn't like the game, but changes this good suggest they are going to achieve their goal of making the only space 4x anyone ever needs.

Granted I'm also getting poo poo for luck on good colonies nearby, and the second game i tried had zero AI empires for about 30 years. I think my strategy is almost completely reliant on conquering an AI, sectoring their territory, and letting the sector build resources for me.

The new Consumer Goods requirement for pops is definitely slowing down mineral growth early on. And corvettes seem weaker than tissue paper now. Combined, I've definitely been unable to meet the kind of build speeds I used to have.

e; ^^ Planetary Survey Corps is one of the new Traditions that are in the game now. You have a resource called Unity, and when it builds up enough, you choose a Tradition for various benefits. They're basically Civics from Civ 5 and 6 if you've played either.
