DatonKallandor posted:What about Star Ruler 2's diplomatic currency? That gave culture empires real teeth while still letting the military focused ones kick their doors open if they overdid it with the annexations. StarRuler 2 deserved a vastly better reception than it got, and the diplomacy system is one that should just become the standard in 4Xs. It's as revolutionary and brilliant a concept as the ones that created the genre in the first place, in my reckoning. e; I am loving ready for this expansion.

It's not a clear indication of the scale of the threat but it sure makes you stop and think. The current estimation by the Strategic Collective is that the Imperium's mobilization would have to increase 500% to stand a realistic chance of resisting the full might of the Tyranids. That would entail every single living person in three of the five Segmentae. I want Prethoryn to be that dangerous and enduring a threat in Stellaris, requiring a total galactic mobilization to beat

The latter give a bit less food, but lasts as long as you keep the slaves. Only two? Listen here buddy, my race of interstellar horrors has thousands of cuisines surrounding the eating of sapient lifeforms. And I want every last one modeled in game, with unique benefits. Stir-fry, gumbo, steak, ready meals and high-end restaurants, I want there to be Michelen Star type awards for my best human chefs, and a rousing debate about whether humans or minbari taste better. e; Oh oh! And then you get a big Ur-Quan style split in your empire later in the game. One faction thinks people who roboticize themselves should be slave-shielded and forced to return to being organic, the other thinks roboticization is such an insult that any species doing it should be wiped out.

I've only had a couple of factions emerge so far, but given that the faction happiness equates to the member pops's base happiness, I've found myself giving far more attention than I used to to their opinions. I've had slaves since I started because of that Syncretic Evolution trait, and suddenly a third of my empire decides xenos are cool, good, and I'm seriously thinking about abolishing slavery to undo the massive malus.
