Finally a baseball thread. Didn't notice because I've been avoiding SA like the plague. Salt-mining in the Superbowl GDT thread brought me back. :)

I'll give up my spot in my goon keeper league. I'm not a big H2H guy.

For anyone interested, I believe it's H2H-One win, 6x6. Traditional categories and OPS/Holds. 10 teams, $10 buy-in.

Keeper rules: 3 players, no restrictions. Best players are Blackmon, Marte, and Bogaerts. And Jose Fernandez :sigh:

What's your auction strategy? Go 95% hitting and $1 pitchers? Corner the market on a stat? Go all in on a few high dollar players, filling out the rest with cheap guys? Or cobble something together like I did.

C: Yadi Molina

2B: Jose Altuve

SP: Clayton Kershaw, Max Scherzer, Michael Pineda, Jon Gray, Jharel Cotton
RP: Rasiel Iglesias, Brandon Maurer, Andrew Miller, Shawn Kelley, Addison Reed, Neftali Feliz, Kyle Barraclough

Some dude kept stealing my cheap hitters as bench guys when I didn't even have my starters filled.

Outside of Kershaw, I think the first player who came to mind as a buy in a points league is Carlos Santana. The terrible average he routinely puts up drops him to the mid-rounds in normal leagues, but the power numbers and massive amount of walks really boosts him up in points leagues. Take a look at projected season points, and I'm willing to bet he compares to players ranked a few rounds higher. I think he'll put up more points than any of your hitters except Votto and maybe Beltre.
If you got him where he's ranked in a normal league, you got a good deal and I'd hang on to him if I were you.

Maurer might lose his job, and looks like his only good stretch ever was pre-ASB 2015.

Bad ratios, pedestrian K/9, bad team (not that bad teams can't produce great closers)

I dropped him in a few leagues and I'm not worried about replacing him.

I think if you want Stanton or Felix, or both, this is the year to get them. AJ Pollock too.

Sort of like last year with Robinson Cano. I don't think he'll ever make it to round 2 value again, but when I saw he was going around 70th, I had to take him.

Of course, Stanton could get hurt again, but 45 HR potential in round 5 is attractive.

I didn't think so highly of Mookie. I had similar expectations for him (.300, 15/15) and then he exploded. Sometimes being a good contact hitter can produce some unexpected results.

I've got Realmuto at C as well, so that wouldn't be as bad of a downgrade at that spot as it might appear. I'm probably pulling the ripcord early on Villar, but I would have Crawford and Baez to fill in there...and Schwarber...
