Jeff Passan was signal boosting people on Twitter naming and shaming high school coaches who ran pitchers into the ground last spring. It was horrifying.

Looking at ticket prices, looks like I'll be watching a lot baseball on MLB.tv this year!

I looked at Rays home opener tickets and they were $50 for upper deck seats that used to be $10 when I started going to games! Then I noticed it was against the Yankees. I looked at a game against the Tigers a couple weeks later: $19 for the upper deck. All is well with the universe.

Yeah, half the team goes to one game and half the team goes to another. That way the coaches can see more prospects and invitees in action during spring training. And you get to see dingers by minor league guys you've never heard of!

They love spending money to lock people up on cheap long-term contracts. It buys out four arbitration years so they can project their salary outlay better or something.

He missed 60 games last year and still led the league in defensive WAR. The analysts suggest we might see a breakout offensive season out of him but even if not he's still a 26-year-old with a vacuum cleaner in the outfield and an average bat. I'm glad he's not going anywhere.
