i feel like part of all this is also just the fact that youtube celebs aren't used to getting negative media like traditional celebs have been, and they dont have managers to change their diapers and coddle them when bad things do happen. that, combined with the fact that its real easy to summon mobs of frothing, echo-chamber nerds in the age of social media makes for this really weird clusterfuck we see today
