If watching almost every single episode of Air Crash Investigation has told me anything, it's that the bomb would have to be sufficiently powerful enough to cause serious damage to the superstructure of the plane or take out a poo poo load of electronics and hydraulics to bring it down

Paul.Power posted:Not that I want to give anyone any ideas and it'd be horrible if it happened, but I honestly don't know why there hasn't been a terrorist attack that's just a bunch of multi-car pileups at strategic locations around the M25. It seems obvious. there's a BBC docu-drama (The Day Britain Stopped) that took on this, but rather than terrorists, it hypothesizes two multi-car pile-ups on the M25 on the Friday before Christmas during a 48 hour rail strike. The end result being a mid-air collision between two planes caused by air traffic controllers having to work overtime as their relief staff can't get in as every road within 100 miles of London is gridlocked
