So now we all have to give up something important and meaningful to us for Lent, to represent sacrifice and also because we're sinful, sinful little fuckers who're going to hell.

One of the weirdest things about growing up in the South (of the U.S.) was hearing protestants discuss what they were going to give up for lent. Why do protestants so desperately want to pretend to be Catholics 40 days out of the year when they hate Catholics so much the rest of the time? I will never understand.

To answer your question, OP, I am giving up nothing because I am not Catholic. Or protestant.
