They could hit a real sentimental note in the finale if they show an adult Paige staring wistfully at something while rubbing her fingers together. Mameluke posted:Jesus christ why the gently caress are you even thinking about this. The only thing your non-observation is a commentary on is your own mind. Hmm, family-time is getting intense... must be incest. The intensity made me anxious, too, but I thought it was going to be some weird depersonalizing meditative exercise. Or something off-putting about covers like, "You have to find it within yourself to make it real." I didn't expect it to be some hokey rub your fingers together and think of your parents thing. Edit: Makes me think of this show about Delta force where one of the operators was giving someone a crash course in maintaining cover. They had this fun little question-answer back-and-forth based around, "What's real is true. Cover is real. Cover is true. What is true?" "My name is [cover]." vermin posted:I was thinking of starting this series. Is there action? Is it mostly people talking about relationships? Is there a clearly marked best season and worst season? It's an espionage slow-boiler with a realistic feel and good-to-great writing throughout. The action, relationships, etc. are all in that context and it all fits together snugly. I'd rank it as one of the best shows on TV right now.

He's smart, comfortable being sneaky, etc. God drat, they picked the wrong kid. Hell, they could've pawned Paige off on the church entirely.

I've been seeing ads for Patriot, which is on Amazon Prime Video. Anyone watching it? Would a fan of The Americans like Patriot?

Started the pilot. It's great. Very different, though. Edit: It's like if The Americans were a decent comedy. Accretionist fucked around with this message at 03:53 on Apr 6, 2017 |

I was actually disappointed by the season's ending: A sad, broken spy chasing a MacGuffin is a schtick that's good for one season, not two. They should've started wrapping the plot up and bringing him to catharsis 2/3 of the way through to tie it up neatly by the end. If they did that, it would've been an extremely strong show. That being said, I loved it. I thought Burn After Reading was absolutely hilarious. That's about where my sense of humor's at. Patriot is right there, too. I also didn't expect it to be 50% comedy so that was all a pleasant surprise.

Phil claims HIV, quitting. Elizabeth goes home. The kids get normal lives. Henry joins the FBI, bonds with Phil through Phil's mysteriously canny guidance. Phil & Stan stay bros. Henry has two dads
