It wasn't Glanders he was trying to move when he infected himself - it was Lassa. Lassa's a hemorrhagic fever. It's not quite as deadly as Ebola, but it's still medically significant, and it was implied that these particular virus strains were engineered, like the 'Super Glanders' was.

As shown at the start of the episode, basically nobody can get food in the USSR, they're in the middle of a famine. Even the KGB staff were 'joking' about it. Hell, Olegs father is (the minister?) in the Ministry of Railways and I doubt their dinner was lavish.

The CIA extracted him from Russia so I expect food shortages will be the big thing this season.

The Soviets started importing grains after a pretty major drought in 1963 made a huge dent in their livestock from panicked slaughtering, but my guess is that this storyline might've been suggested to them by their new advisor. The Soviets were uber-paranoid in the early 80s, because they could begin to see the end coming, and thought every little thing was a capitalist plot to perform the ~coup de grace~.

Henry will kill Phillip's real son and it will be exactly like Hallorann in the Kubrick Shining movie.

Somehow (in case it comes true) I've a feeling that Philip's ultimately going to have to kill Elizabeth and then himself to save Paige and Henry from becoming *them*, right after sending a full confession to Stan for him to receive posthumously.

Uh, no. I could see Stan murdering the both of them, though. Phil is basically Stan's only non-work friend - and learning after all this time that your *only* non-work friend was a Soviet agent who you can never be sure was genuinely concerned in the slightest with your problems past "does he know who I really am" would be kind of a shock, to say nothing of "oh god you're trying to turn my son into a Commie with your daughter." Remember, Stan's probably still working off the whole "I had to pretend to be a white supremacist neo-Nazi for years" thing, where HE had to pretend to be friends with the most toxic community you can imagine.

Well, being his only non-work friend would be a point in my favor I think, and him being an agent with a cover himself at one point might also actually help him relate, but I'll cede the point simply because I just remembered how violently Stan reacted when he thought the worst thing was that Phillip was boning his ex-wife.

I'll compromise in the sense that I think an actual fight between Phil and Stan would be *amazing*. Stan looks like the type who'd still have his hands around Phil's neck even after Liz had stabbed him fifty times in the back - like a paler Brock Samson.

Phil has had hangups and misgivings with the cause from Day 1, but I am beginning to wonder if Elizabeth might not be starting to really question things.

I think what might manage to snap Elizabeth out of her ~zeal~ might be either a failed or successful suicide attempt by Paige.

I don't think she'll kill him. Stan is a big guy and even though he's never had to show it, FBI counterintelligence agents are trained to hold their own physically. He also spent time with white supremacists, who basically fight to prove they "ain't no faggots."

I think the drama will come from the point that the burden of proof will be entirely on him to prove she was an agent, and combined with him sleeping with her and already being on the AG's poo poo list will compound the situation enough that it'll end his career and probably land him in prison.

Or, he'll tell Philip and Aderholt since they're his only friends who are close enough to help him "make it go away," and Philip will have a huge crisis of conscience because he'll have two FBI C-I agents hook, line, and sinker and have to decide to keep it from Elizabeth, who would definitely tell Claudia.
