TDI's Drakengard 1 LP might have been my first LP, ever, and it was a terrifying joy. After a very rough week, I am incredibly excited to be on the ground floor of this thread. I can't wait to see how this game manages to be great, but just as crazy as the others. Edit: "Permission to not die?" "Permission granted!" exchanges are always hilarious to me, this is a dang good start. Billzasilver fucked around with this message at 11:21 on Mar 30, 2017 |

Is this boss supposed to remind us of the godawful screaming from the Furiae bossfight in Drakengard 1? Also a good thread title: Nier: Automata - Play! Play! Let's Play!

Hey Id, is your last kingdom Hearts youtube video set to not be available in all countries? Session 3C. I figured it was either that or the ending song, since I can watch all the other ones just fine. Also I do think that 9S is genuinely changing what he thinks about machines. It's been a busy day and he's seen a huge variety of machine behavior, and above all I think Pascal' charm is getting to him. Also also I'm going to say Romeos and Juliets is my favorite play of all time from now on. Maybe Platinum should just do Shakespeare Theater as their main job from now on.

For us, 9S has changed and grown and befriended machines and even saved the world. But for the character, he's back to being his old racist corncob self. He's lost his connection to us, the player.

Reminder that Drakengard Route B wasn't weird at all until the final boss. At which point it became so horrifying that the sound of the screaming still haunts me to this day.

It is fun to think about what an "ending" is. If you just think about route A and B, they're happy. Even if you know Same thing happened in Nier, route A left us all ignorant and happy. But Darth Master Yoko Taro knows better. No matter how many endings he gives, no one can ever stop.

Now that we have A2, I wanna say that I love the multiple languages used in the credits songs and existential names. 2B - to be - English - she doesn't really know what she's doing or why, but she marches forward, following orders and protecting her sidekick 9S - nein ist - German - not existing is funny because he's a hackerman living in the virtual world. The major reference for his playstyle at first is "not 2B" because the player quickly realizes he's not as good at close range fighting. A2 - et tu - Latin - I don't really know her story except she's the lone survivor of the previous androids, very angry at yorha command. From the name alone, I guess she's fighting to make the world a better world for other people? (Said people might just be her dead comrades getting vengeance). It's also a fun inversion of Julius Caesar, he was the one killed by many, and she's the one survivor where many of her friends die. It's also funny that she gets a haircut and picks up a new sword to look like 2B And then we have the multiple languages for the ending song, which I'm sure all have a unique meaning and deeply interwoven philosophical meaning.

Lmao the shop selling body parts is the first time the very concept of something has repulsed me in a long time, but dawned if it's not a sign of artistic genius and craftsmanship. Are the heads a particularly strong weapon? I do like that the game so invasive ly gets you to think that reset machines will just repeat the same mistakes over and over until this happens. A major consideration for whether or not a mercy killing is moral is the assumption that a reset beep book robot like pascal will try and fail at pacifism again and suffer even more for it. But here he is doing something completely unexpected. And....morally neutral I guess? Oh, and people were asking why fear would make the children do a mass suicide. I think they made an immature but rational choice, like how suicide in zombie stories is portrayed all the time.

"The machines have started sharing data" "Let's share data about it" "9S is becoming increasingly unstable" "Affirmative. But we are too stupid to do anything about it" From the very beginning I never understood what a pod was exactly, but they're reminding me an awful lot of the machines lately.

EclecticTastes posted:The fake shipments included real water, which was established as the only form of "sustenance" required by androids (to run their fusion reactors). This implies that there were still androids there that needed it. I forget what else was on the manifest, but suffice it to say, the station is very likely manned. It makes sense, because someone would need to be there to maintain the various databases, and automated messages couldn't adapt to changing situations as easily as actual agents, no matter how many contingencies were included. And where did you get the idea that the android resistance leaders know that humans are extinct? I haven't seen anything that says that. The manifests were mostly empty space, most likely to keep a skeleton crew of androids running. If humans were really there, they'd be sending food and protein powder instead of pure water.

Did YoRHa's creators ever actually have any intent of doing anything for humanity? Because every document we've found recently has suggested that YoRHa androids basically only exist to kill a bunch of machines and then each other for no real reason. What was the point of the organization in the first place? Yorha was created for the glory of mankind.

Well the trailer already showed the endings are "meaningless [c]ode" and "childhoo[d]s end." Not real tough figuring out who gets which. I think the trickiest part is the phrase for ending D starts with the letter C.

Same But then again, I think all the Nier original endings were some variation of "our surviving heroes stand in a room together watching the sunset" and humanity dies in the background
