His real bad is still pretty ok. They aren't losing because of (their) goaltending. They can't loving score. You aren't going to win a playoff series where you only score 3 goals in a single game. His average over the whole playoffs is 914, against the pens I'd bet it's sub 900, that's bad. MAF has stood on his head so can't really blame the caps too much for not scoring. It's certainly not for lack of effort. myron cope posted:I can't wait for the meltdowns from the Oshie penalty at the end It was a good call tho

JawKnee posted:Okay, you're a ref as per what you've said in SAS threads, so I have some questions: Can you define incidental contact? I can't find a definition for it. Also when a rule talks about where contact is 'initiated', it would seem to mean where the point of contact is initiated, no? As a referee, the rules are specifically vague about things like that to gif the refs wiggle room in judgement. In this case, I think the ref made an error in judgement in determining the contact to be incidental with Talbot outside the crease.

JawKnee posted:How much of the goalie has to be within the crease then? I think the rule is referring to where contact is initiated on each player - ie: is it initiated on a part of the player that is outside the crease. Also, that particular addendum tells refs not to pay too much attention to exactly where contact was made, but rather the nature of it. Generally not. Rules are usually structured so that standard English language interpretations of words are sufficient. There's not likely a glossary section that says "incidental means blah", although I haven't read the NHL rule book cover to cover.

kalensc posted:Regardless of how the series/playoffs end for Pit, if Crosby is healthy (concussion-wise) at the end then I'll be content because I got to witness something wholly unexpected. This was why Hasek was so fun to watch too, flopping all over the place and somehow making a bunch of crazy saves anyways. Ginette Reno posted:I mean it seems like they followed the protocol. He stayed off the ice Wednesday. Assuming he had no symptoms that day they then put him on the ice for a light practice Thursday. With no symptoms there, the next step would be a full contact practice which would have him being just able to play tomorrow provided he feels fine after this practice. Yeah there's a clear process to the concussion protocol. It's ultimately reliant on player self-evaluation to some extent though and I think the odds of Crosby wanting to just play it safe are pretty low. Good Soldier Svejk posted:Murray is on the ice today as well so it's highly possible he's ready to go for the Senators. (Or Rangers, I guess.) But probably the Senators. Honestly do you think they pull MAF after he's been so great? If he has a lovely game then perhaps but until then I think they have to ride the hot streak.

I saw a guy that can't have been more than 5'2" playing in a junior hockey showcase tourney I reffed last weekend and I was expecting him to get loving plastered but nobody got a solid hit on him the entire game. He just found ways to dish the puck (safely, not just panic dumping) or straight up dodge all these 6'+ guys who kept trying to murder him. My opinion of this kid was helped by the fact that he has gold star hockey hair down to mid-back and wears a massively over-sized jersey untucked so it hangs to his loving knees.
