Labour are polling basically the same as they did in 2015, the problem is that the Tories are hoovering up all of UKIPs votes now that Farage has hosed off and the party has no reason to exist after Leave. See the graph above where half the country are either open ethnic nationalists or just in the closet about it.

"It was the 40's" was his explanation

Helsing posted:It's grimly fascinating when you realize just how many British atrocities are acknowledged by historians but completely invisible to the public consciousness. People are sort of vaguely aware of the Irish potato famine but all those Indian famines, right up to the midst of World War II, went right down the memory hole. Sure, you can look them up in a few obscure sources or the occasional book published in the left-wing press, and serious historians don't actually deny that they happened, but the amount of selective forgetfulness is astounding. Even the potato famine was taught much more as "this terrible thing that happened" rather than an the logical end result of British colonial policy. The Almighty, indeed, sent the potato blight, but the English created the famine.

Yeah it's hilarious to hear how Corbyn has killed the party when they're looking to get bang on the same amount of votes as 2010 and 2015. Only problem is that UKIP and the Lib Dems have totally poo poo the bed and Scottish Labour are the party equivalent of a gigantic flaming turd I can't wait for the Lib Dem tears when they win like 4 seats and Tim Farron gets shitcanned while Corbyn stays #libdemfightback

rudatron posted:So Corbyn or not, it seems that Brexit hasn't had an 'even' effect of the UK political landscape - it's boosted the conservatives significantly while cutting labor up. That's totally nuts. Hungary and Poland have pretty much straight up fascists in government. Sweden are on the verge of doing so while 35% of French voters voted for a fascist over Macron. Britain's political uniqueness in Europe is that the main centre-right party has totally embraced ethnic nationalists in a short term bid for power, not that it's had the biggest turn to the right in Europe
