In terms of personnel, not much. The biggest loss was Dexter "You go, we go" Fowler.

Last year the starting pitching was stellar while the bullpen was dogshit and now they've reversed for the most part.

It seems like a load of sophomore slumps and regression being a bitch right now. Still plenty of time to flip back into a top tier team, of course.

It's the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Amazingly Good Baseballers. Jeets definitely gets in for that despite being a lovely shortstop with a good bat.

For what ever it's worth, David Ross had by far the biggest built-in fanbase going into the show. I didn't even know Simone was on it until 2 weeks ago, but MLB/the Cubs been promoting David like he was still on the 25-man.

Also, he is still employed by the organization, so it's not like he's fully independent of the Cubs these days or anything, either.

Yeah, I read you. I wasn't necessarily meaning to call you out or suggest Rizzo is the absolute best or anything. Just that the ASG voting is weird and dumb for a lot of reasons at the macro level.

From what I remember, AL and NL teams are designated captains through a process I don't know and then the captains pick their teams from their respective leagues. But that may only be for the last couple of guys on the list.
