The results of science doesn't need to reflect our preexisting perceptions of reality, that's the whole point. Science is a process to seek truth, and out of all such processes it's the most likely to give us literal truths.

this process is predicated on understanding that science does not create knowledge, but is rather a method by which we test assumptions for errors

what you are calling 'knowledge' is our 'preexisting perceptions of reality.' science works due to the understanding that those perceptions being based on science does not make them true.

There's no nobility in some labor, but there definitely can be nobility in labor in the larger, broader sense of the word. Labor which originates in the citizen and exists outside of the sphere of coporate control. For example, I and my girlfriend labored to transform a wood shed into a chicken coop. It took me a day to dig a trench around it so that we could bury wire around it to prevent coyotes, etc. from digging in and getting the chickens. It was a sweaty job, but I certainly felt some measure of nobility in it.

US were actively trying to get Mengele to come and help.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Paperclip#Key_recruits

The paperclip medical people are a whos who of human weapons testing psychopaths

The great thing is the research is mostly useless. For Mengele, there's an argument that one of his experiments may have gathered hypothetically useful niche information on hypothermia. It was a completely accidental byproduct of an attempt to prove race theory on the grounds of its prediction that Russians endure extremely low temperatures notably better than members of other "races."

I can kind of see that as speaking to the need Christianity was meant to fill, giving those who have done wrong a place for genuine self-examination and change. But, um, I'm not sure I'd wish our current sex pests and Christian culture on each other. Where they aren't already one and the same anyhow.
