It's Labour red and Con Blue for me.

I'm watching the debate now, some spicy stuff. I liked how at the beginning it was basically four leaders ganging up on Rudd's nonsense

Still watching the debate - Caroline Lucas is great, isn't she :swoon: Leanne Wood is also good. Whoever the SNP bloke is has come across pretty well too, and Farron has actually seemed alright as well. Nuttall and Rudd utter poo poo

On reflection Farrons Cheeky Chappy routine was significantly more embarrassing than Mays no-show.

His opening speech was laughable but he's had some decent rebuttals so far

I don't get why some of the other left parties are attacking Corbyn and Labour on anything  that's not the target man

Realistically their votes are going to come from Labour voters. See: recent Scottish politics

Yeah but... do they want the Tories to win

I mean I guess everyone know they will so

I do somewhat.

How is being Progressive not being leftist? In the us the only leftists we have are progressives.

And I assume that the SNP are to the left of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown who built the modern Labour party right?

So how would one even claim Labour itself is leftist by these standards?

It's worth looking at Labour's election manifesto - http://www.labour.org.uk/index.php/manifesto2017

It's a good manifesto and is by far the most "leftist" and ambitious I've seen in my life time.

I've been out of the loop for all of today, what's been the word on how QT was viewed in the papers and that and are there any new polls. Yes I am a lazy gently caress.

It was viewed as pretty much a wash, no particular Corbyn-bashing for his waffling on nukes. Many polls came out tonight and they are a) all over the loving place and b) haven't moved significantly since the last lot.

E: Also I think there was something about some terrorist attacks on London Bridge/Borough High Street

I've got poll fever so I'm going with a mate to an all nighter at a pub tomorrow. If the exit polls are really bad though I guess I could just do 326 shots and go into a coma for the next 5 years
Tories will probably make a law to kill all coma patients. If they don't want to be killed they should bloody well work harder and stop scrounging

Spoke to a 20 year old lad at work today who voted Tory. He said of he was 18 he would have voted Labour for the free tuition, but as he's already been at uni 2 years there was no point :stare:

My mum sent me an article about Corbyn and The Woodcraft Folk that I found interesting. For anyone that doesn't know, Woodcraft is a progressive and leftist youth group that was often billed as anti-Scouts or "Scouts for hippies" when I was going

https://inews.co.uk/opinion/comment/woodcraftcorbyn/

I went to Woodcraft for 12 years from the age of 6 to 18 and I think it's a fantastic movement, so finding out Corbyn is a member and leader just makes me love the man even more :swoon: I'd really recommend it to anyone ITT who has kids, I met some of my best friends to this day there and I think it's a really great thing for young people to be involved in

Ages and ages back now, but John Oliver repeating bits over and over again is really just because that's what American writers think you literally need to do to be funny. I remember reading an article by a writer for SNL who said they'd been writing jokes with the same formula since the 80s because it still worked.

I honestly can't imagine how creatively bankrupt you'd have to be to want to write like that, but I guess it's a cultural thing.

So what you're saying is he's a hack and a sellout

Agreed.

Man your political aparatus is quaint and cute compared to the us. Considering someone is going out there and doing this level of post-mortem and naming names.

Here our political campaigns have billion dollar budgets, thousands of staff, and life-long career professionals running them.
In the UK there are laws that prevent the kind of insane spending that happens during political campaigns in the USA. We certainly still have professional campaign managers running things (Lynton Crosby managed the Conservative campaign), but thankfully there's a limit on spending as well as other limits like no political adverts and supposedly impartial TV coverage
