That's literally the only argument the Tories have left.

Local government has been cut so heavily that it's basically inevitable fire inspections have been cut. And as May said the problem isn't the regulations, it's that they haven't been enforced properly for the past seven years. e: in addition the Conservatives had the Lachanal House inquest as a warning that they could've acted on in particular, which they failed to do.

If the amendment fails it will expose the influence the DUP has over the government's social policy. Even if they're not going to roll back gay marriage in Britain they can still make the Conservatives oppose progressive legislation such as this.

I'd hope that even more pro-life MPs can see the need to mitigate the harm caused by NI's blanket ban. As I understand it even underage victims of rape or incest cannot access abortion under those laws.

Corbyn had the right stance on Brexit to avoid electoral annihilation.

Coohoolin posted:There is absolutely no mainstream left wing brexit narrative and I'm not happy to see Corbyn making symbolic capitulations to the racist thumbpeople Britain. Corbyn's whole thing is that being principled and doing the right thing worked regardless of "electability" shite, why does that stop being the case with Brexit?

I think Corbyn's responses to the terrorist attacks were actually very good compared to the non-answers that centre-left politicians often give, and explain why he wasn't destroyed by them like some people were predicting. He talked about both how to help combat the attacks with domestic policing and how to address the source of the problem with foreign policy changes.
