Finally got around to watching the E3 stream and noticed the Cuphead copyright date as "1930", which I thought was amusing.

Holy gently caress, if you have a Groove subscription, be really careful trying to get a refund. I got my refund, but they also removed the years of stacked Xbox Live Gold I had in the process and it took 3-4 hours on the phone to get that back.

My kids were bugging me about the Minecraft "better together" update, and apparently it isn't an update to the existing xbone minecraft, but a whole new game you have to install? Did they just do a really lovely job of communicating that or am I old and forgetful.

How is this acceptable? Disc is always way slower than me than installing full digital version, enough so that it's a big motivator to just go all digital.

Because I'm looking at this auction for an xbonx plus 12 months of game pass, and the high bid is 32,000. I know this person didn't buy 32,000 bags of doritos. Yeah, I got mine with about 60 bags of Doritos roulette, or $180-190.

GUI posted:The big differentiator between Wolfenstein and Doom since the very beginning in the 90s is that the former is heavily reliant on hitscan enemies in fast-paced combat (unlike COD and the like where you can chill behind crates with your regen health). That's why they're a gigantic pain in the rear end to play with a controller, Doom '16 is much more manageable on console due to the lack of hitscan (except for the shield enemies which are rare), lenient auto aim and most of the combat encouraging getting near enemies, which greatly decreases missed shots due to analog aiming+ the lack of view recoil in most weapons and how generous it is with ammo. I liked the combat more in the first game, the new colossus almost encourages you to just crank the difficulty way down and go hog wild on nazis.

The game pass thing seems like a weird service overall, they've already stopped me from buying some games I otherwise would've paid cash money for, and I'm not sure how that revenue works. On the plus side they did today say that game pass members can also play on PC for those releases that are play anywhere.

I wonder if they tried for that and ended up dialing back to State of Decay 2 (which granted I haven’t looked at any of the previews on)
