Michigan State - Dantonio probably can't go 3-9 again, but I doubt he will. 2/5

With what's going on in the program right now he absolutely might go 3-9 again. This year is going to be bad, but at least this year it won't be surprising.

Michigan State:

Darryl Rogers (1976-1979): Left for the Arizona State job
Muddy Waters (1980-82): Fired before last game of the season, but carried off the field by his lovely players (including Morten Andersen) after a loss
George Perles (1983-94): One of our best coaches, but fired for NCAA violations. Now serves on the board of trustees.
Nick Saban (1994-99): Left for LSU
Bobby Williams (2000-02): Fired his rear end mid-season
Morris Watts: 2002 interim
John L. Smith (2003-06): Went 8-5, then had three straight losing seasons and was fired
Mark Dantonio (2007-present): Greatest coach in program history. Hot seat rumors have dissipated after 4-1 start. Only getting fired if off field issues mount.

Why didn't Brady Hoke work out? I mean I know he wasn't a good coach, but was it bad recruiting, bad playcalling, no defense, what?

His recruiting was good and the defenses were usually his strong suit, but he was an awful gameday coach.

Also he didn’t wear a headset so I’m not convinced he actually did any coaching.

Worst case probably an OC but I could see him getting a mid major head coaching job since he was pretty good at CSU and his on paper resume at Florida isn’t too bad.

Hell we’re probably a short rehab stint somewhere away from him getting like the Missouri job with the way the SEC works

Yeah if Muschamp can get another head job in the conference two years later than I don’t see why Mac can’t.

You call constant run plays in a 2 minute drill bad clock management. I call it innovative.

And Luke was a good defender but on roids.

Ah you're right. He took a bunch of painkillers after an injury and I mixed that with Smash's roid storyline.

I have not gone back and rewatched the seasons with the school located in the ghetto that inexplicably popped up overnight, was Luke on roids too? If so that’s also another issue considering Smash was roiding in the first season. Lotta discipline issues, really. His kicker murdered someone and everyone just pretended nothing happened.

You should rewatch them because they're much better than the seasons with Landry and Tyra killing a dude. Also the guy was a rapist so it's fine. And it gave us Landry asking a random girl if she believed good men were capable of evil.

The best dropped plotline is Buddy Garrity's mysteriously disappeared immigrant child that he adopted. But what bothers me the most is Crucifictorius going from a Christian metalcore band to a group that does Flaming Lips covers (but kept the name).

Recruiting to Lubbock or the Palouse is probably very different than to Knoxville but I think the bigger factor is his system.
