see i mean if politics was actually chess or whatever, this is how you do it. go to the extreme, then let the stragglers in your party make a positive concession so it sounds like every part of the party wins

It sounds like a good potential optics win for the democrats. The republicans gently caress up with their abomination of a bill, Chuck and Bernie step up with a bill that acknowledges that ACA needs more work, takes a concrete, written down step to improve it then shout it to everyone who was/is/will be shook up and scared by ACHA to push a 2018 sweep. The left (me included) would grumble, but at least the dems compromised towards the left for once and that would be a nice signal.

The real crime of decorum is that it made people forget that the bully pulpit can be used by anyone political which is why you have things like pelosi telling the most active parts of the party to gently caress off then her croneys asking why what she says matters

There's some real progress in $15/hr and single-payer support on behalf of the Dems, but will they hammer it enough to turn out the vote?

All signs point to convoluted messages that will discourage both sides from voting and keep things roughly the same.

biggest factor is if the dems on a federal level can shut the hell up. Nothing good will come from them as everything they say will make people assume that the down ballot candidates hold similar views which might not be the case.
