Bioware is finally merging some servers together – well, technically moving all servers to new ones. All East Coast NA servers were merged into The Star Forge, and all West Coast NA servers were merged into Satele Shan (though this server is also hosted on a East Coast data center). European servers also got merged into a few different ones - Darth Malgus (English), The Leviathan (French) and Tulak Hord (German).

Goon Guild Info

Currently we have an Imperial side guild <That's No Goon> and a Republic side guild <Goon Squad> on the Star Forge server. Things have been quiet as of late, but if you want to be in a guild with the solid gold TNG dancers, look us up for an invite.

To look us up, pull up a menu by going to the Friends menu (O by default), selecting the "Who" tab. Search for "Goon" and change the right drop down to show "Guild". Type /whisper: <any name in the guild> and ask for a ginvite. Everyone can invite. If no one is on, hop on our Discord and ask for an invite.

Going to try things a bit different with the OP here to simplify things for new and returning players - Please bear with me over the next few weeks as I polish it up, I wanted to get a new OP before the server merges and United Forces contest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Well, what’s this game all about?

Star Wars: The Old Republic is a MMORPG from Bioware (Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire) that launched in late 2011, having been in development for a few years before that. It was targeted toward the general World of Warcraft audience, playing very similar and having a similar dynamic of characters that played as Damage Dealers (DPS), Damage Takers (Tanks) and Healers (…Healers). The game launched with nearly 100 different servers with various rule sets (Player vs. Player, Role Playing) and different languages (English, not English). At launch the game was immensely successful, with all servers quickly filling up and queues forming to even log in. The game was heavily produced and included 8 fully voice acted class stories, each of which had a minimum of 20-30 hours of gameplay.

Unfortunately, Bioware underestimated the MMORPG audience and failed to provide enough end game content to compete with WoW and other MMORPGs, and players left quickly to return to established games, leaving only the die-hard Star Wars fans to play the game. MMORPG players wanted to do endgame content – and launch SWTOR was lacking in that.

By the end of 2012, the game was in a very bad state – players scattered across empty servers, problems with repetitive content, etc. Bioware launched the Free to Play model, including a cash shop with microtransactions. Unlike many other games, the cash shop (Cartel Market) is not pay to win – all items are simply cosmetic or Quality of Life (QoL) unlocks to reduce travel cool downs, for example.

Free to Play brought some much needed attention back to the game, and it led to two very successful, traditional expansions. Rise of the Hutt Cartel (2.0) and Shadow of Revan (3.0). Both were a combination of traditional MMORPG elements (Flashpoints, comparable to WoW dungeons and Operations, comparable to WoW raids) and story based content. Additional, smaller content was added during this time frame and all was well in the world.

In 2015, Bioware made a decision to move away from traditional MMORPG elements and focus much more on single player elements, catering to what they did best – Story. This was a controversial move, as the launch of the 3rd expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire (4.0) only included single player, story focused content. Adding to the frustration of many, this story content was almost identical for every character that played it – your evil, manipulative Sith Assassin had almost the same experience as a pure, honorable Jedi Guardian. Throughout 2015 Bioware released new content in the form of a new chapter of the KOTFE storyline once a month.

Late 2016 saw the launch of Knights of the Eternal Throne (5.0) – while it learned some of the lessons of the previous expansion, all chapters being released at the same time, for example, it was still a story focused expansion that lacked any new group or endgame content. It was also the last straw for many of the MMORPG players that had hung on hoping for more, as the gearing system went from the traditional format of “Run raids for good gear, run harder raids for better gear, run the hardest raids for the best gear” and moved to a random loot box format comparable to Overwatch and other games. Gearing was a nightmare in early 5.0 as it was completely based on random boxes.

Okay, well, where are we now?

Quite a bit has happened since the last expansion. Most importantly, the lead producer of the game has moved on to other projects, and the new producer has shown that he is well aware of the concerns the community has. Though there’s still quite a few areas that are on the roadmap, in the last 10 months we’ve seen –

• Server Merges – There were two server merges done early in SWTOR’s lifespan to reduce the quantity of servers and bring people closer together. Unfortunately, none happened in the last few years. Making things worse, in early 2016 Bioware removed the PvP/PvE designation from servers, allowing all servers to have PvP be optional in open world areas (Which unsurprisingly led to much less open world PvP). We were left with a large number of “dead” servers. On November 8th, 2017 Bioware is performing a much needed 3rd round of Server merges. Details are available here. After the merges are complete, we will have one West Coast NA server, one East Coast NA server, and a few EU servers centered around language.

• New Operation – Bioware has released the first two bosses of a new Operation, with both Story and Hard Mode available.

• New Flashpoints – A new Flashpoint was released in September, with another new one to be released in November (which fan favorite author Timothy Zahn helped create!)

• New PvP Maps Announced – No firm date on this yet, but it’s announced.

• Class Balancing – Quite a few classes have received changes, which isn’t unusual for the game, however Bioware has been very open as to the reasons for changes, which is a welcome change.

• Galactic Command “Loot Boxes” fixed – The initial decision to make the gearing process 100% random has been reversed, and the gearing system is now as it was before – people who want to gear up can do it through raiding, with harder Operations dropping better gear. Galactic Command (GC) remains as a supplementary system that can surprise a player with a good piece of gear or cosmetic item just for playing the game.

With the server merges, the game is headed in the right direction. The game is very new player friendly, with the option to play through almost all of the story content by yourself. You can easily spend 100 hours in game without talking to another player.
Group content is a focus as well, with the intent to make it appealing to MMORPG players again. The gaming landscape is changing, and the idea of grinding away at extremely difficult content night after night is no longer something the majority of game players want to do – Bioware gets this, and has made the raiding experience open to new players and not overly difficult at the lower levels. However, they also understand that some players do want to chase the dragon and do difficult content, and they are trying to provide that experience.

The game is focused primarily on casual players - it caters to those that want to hop on for a half hour here and there, with maybe a couple hour sessions on the weekends. It is extremely alt friendly - leveling new characters is super fast, and no one class overpowers another.

FEAR MY SHARK ROCKET IT REALLY SUCKS AND BLOWS
New and returning player information

SWTOR is great because the barrier to entry is extremely low. You can play the game for no cost whatsoever as a Free to Play player. As a F2P player, you have access to 8 fully voiced 20-30 hour class stories along with a ton of side quests, storylines that take place on individual planets, Flashpoints (group activities that are comparable to dungeons in WoW) and some Player vs. Player Warzones.

Simply go to SWTOR.com, create an account, and begin downloading the game. You can actually log in, create a character, and explore the first planet.
SWTOR doesn’t have traditional expansions – all expansion content is free to Subscribers, and you hold onto that content even after your subscription lapses. So, if you subscribe today, you will get access to expansions 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 along with the story content that has been released up until this point. Cancel your subscription at the end of the month and you keep all of it!

A few things to know as a beginning player –

Token Characters - First and foremost, when you log on to create a character you may be presented with the option to create a level 60 or 65 character. DO NOT DO THIS AS A NEW PLAYER. Creating a “token” character bypasses the original class stories along with the Shadow of Revan expansion, and it’s pretty universally agreed that the class stories are the best part of the game. We recommend holding onto any tokens and using them after you’ve played for a while, generally to create an Advanced Class that you’ve already seen the story for but have the opposite. For example, the Smuggler storyline has two Advanced Class options – Gunslinger, a ranged damage dealer, and Scoundrel, a melee class that focuses on stealth. The story for both of these classes is the same, so if you complete the story with a Gunslinger but decide you like the Scoundrel playstyle, a token is perfect for this.

Attach a security key to your account! – When you log into your account on SWTOR.com, follow the option to add a security key to your account under “Security”. This has a few benefits – the obvious being increased security, adding two factor authentication to your account means less of a chance you’ll get HAXORED. However, the nicest part is that you’ll get 100 cartel coins each month for having a security key, regardless of whether you are subscribed or not. This isn’t a ton, but it’s good for buying a few things here and there or unlocking items in collections.

Don't subscribe through SWTOR.com - There are a number of bundles which are the same price or cheaper than subscribing through SWTOR.com, such as the Amazon 90 day bundle and the Origin 60 day pack. Both are the same as their respective subscription costs, but come with bonuses such as extra cartel coins.

Leveling and Experience – SWTOR’s leveling experience is very streamlined. It’s designed that you can level completely through “Story” missions – these are your class stories, planetary storylines, and some Flashpoints that you can do by yourself. Look for the purple triangle to indicate that a quest is a story quest.

Gearing – Frequently players ask how to get better gear. The single player SWTOR experience is designed to be extremely easy and forgiving to new players. You don’t need to worry about gearing up like traditional RPGs until you are max level and want to start doing harder “endgame” content. You’ll pick up miscellaneous pieces as random drops or quest rewards, and that’s enough for any story content. So don’t sweat getting the best stats on your gear, and never waste money on the auction house/GTN buying expensive gear.

Companions – On the first planet you’ll get your first companion, and you’ll notice something called “influence” happening when you have conversations with them and companions “Approving” or “disapproving” of your choices. Don’t worry about it! Play the story how you want to play it. You can purchase gifts for your companion to raise their influence, so don’t try to game the system to get the “best” conversation choice. A level 1 influence companion is pretty powerful in their own right, and will help you blast through story content. Ironically, a companion “Disapproving” of a choice gives you influence points as well!

Dark side and Light side – Much like companions, don’t worry about whether you go Dark Side or Light Side. Your choices in conversations will guide you one way or the other, but what alignment you are doesn’t matter for actual game mechanics – play the story how you see fit. Some of the best stories play out best with multiple choices. An evil Sith Warrior choosing to spare a Jedi leads to hilarious dialogue as the Jedi doesn’t understand why you spared him, and attacks you anyway!

What’s the best class? – SWTOR is generally balanced pretty well. This isn’t EverQuest where there are damage classes, support classes, tank classes and hybrids – all classes fall neatly into one of the three buckets of Tank, DPS or Healer. Most Advanced Classes have multiple disciplines where they can be DPS or Heals, or DPS or Tank, but not at the same time. Unless you are doing true endgame activity, don’t worry about which class does the most damage – even at endgame the difference between the top DPS class and bottom DPS class is at most 10%, and there are other factors in play such as ease of use and utility. See the classes post for more information. Play what looks fun to you.

What’s the best class story? - Play the class that interests you. There is no "best story", and asking which story is the best will lead to two pages of people arguing. All of the stories are enjoyable to some extent, and some prefer some stories to others. Play what looks fun! For example, many people think the Consular is the best Republic storyline and hate the Knight story. I'm the opposite, I loved the knight storyline and found the consular boring. This is called "opinions" and everyone has them. It’s generally agreed that Agent and Sith Warrior are two of the best stories, so if you’re completely open, I’d recommend one of them.

The Cartel Market – The Cartel Market is Bioware’s “cash shop”. Here you can buy a host of items including QOL unlocks, restriction removals for free to play players, and cosmetic looks for your character. And there are gambling packs. Every month or two, a new “pack” is released that has some really cool items in it. All of these items are purely cosmetic – armor that comes from them has no stats, and instead gains it’s stats from modifications you can buy on the fleet or from other players, craft yourself, or pull from other gear that you get with modifications in it. You will be tempted to buy a pack because you want a saber that looks like Kylo Ren’s. You will not get that saber. You are playing the lotto with Cartel Packs – you’ll get a bunch of random stuff that you won’t use, maybe a neat mount or crystal, but almost never get one of the super rare items. If there is a specific item in a pack you want and you have some coins, you’re much better off buying something off the Cartel Market and selling it to other players for credits, then using those credits to buy the particular item you want.

Outfit Designer – Found a really cool piece of armor that you want to use, but it’s a level 14 piece and you’re 65? How about that badass Revan armor set you bought? Outfit designer lets you “stamp” outfits on slots (up to 16) so your character can look different than what they are wearing (no weapon slots, unfortunately). This allows you to keep a functional set of armor without changing the way you look.

Collections – SWTOR has a collections system for items you buy that originated from the Cartel Market. Once you get a full set of armor, or a mount, or a weapon, or a pet, etc. that is a “cartel item” you can go to your collections screen (CTRL + I by default) and reclaim as many of that item as you want. So, if you’re a Sith Marauder who wields two lightsabers, and you spend a few million on a really cool one, you don’t need to buy a second – once you’ve equipped the first one, you can go and reclaim another one. And, for a fee (60 cartel coins to 600 cartel coins) you can unlock the item for your entire account. Like that Taun-Taun you spent 20 million on? Spend some cartel coins and unlock it so all of your characters can have it.
One thing that is very important to know about Collections – it is the only thing in the game that you can *only* unlock with cartel coins. All other unlocks can be purchased with credits. For this reason alone I always recommend not wasting your cartel coins on gambling packs or unlocks.

And a reminder, clicking a referral link gets you a few freebies, whether you're F2P or a Subscriber.

FEAR MY SHARK ROCKET IT REALLY SUCKS AND BLOWS
Classes

SWTOR is a pretty well balanced game, so all classes can be a viable choice. If one appeals to you, go ahead and play them. The game is all about alts, too, so don’t feel like it will be your only character. Play the character which story appeals the most to you. Don't worry about which DPS character does the most DPS - unless you're part of the 2% that does endgame raiding or PvP, all classes perform just fine.

In SWTOR, there are "Base Classes" that determine what story you are playing, and Advanced Classes (now chosen at level 1, unlike 10 at launch). In reality, there are a total of 8 Advanced Class playstyles - the Republic and Imperial sides mirror one another. IE, the Jedi Guardian and Sith Juggernaut have the same basic movesets, but they look different.

Jedi Knight - Jedi Guardian and Jedi Sentinel
Jedi Consular - Jedi Shadow and Jedi Sage
Smuggler - Gunslinger and Scoundrel
Trooper - Vanguard and Commando

Sith Warrior - Sith Juggernaut and Sith Marauder
Sith Inquisitor - Sith Assassin and Sith Sorcerer
Imperial Agent - Sniper and Operative
Bounty Hunter - Powertech and Mercenary.

If you’re completely lost, and story doesn’t matter as much, decide what role you want to play.

Tank – Tanking is the rarest role, and it means you’ll get into groups super quick and will always be needed. It can also be a challenge to play if you have no MMO experience, and the leveling experience can be a bit slow. All tank advanced classes can also DPS with one of their other specs. Tank capable classes are –

Guardian/Juggernaut – Have the most defensive cool-downs, so they tend to survive the longest. Have a gap closer in Force Leap, but have limited ranged moves. Keeping threat can be a bit more difficult.
Vanguard/Powertech – More AOE threat capability than Guardians, and a bit more range – though still will need to be in Melee range for most of their fights. Heavy armor so they have some good basic defense. Probably the “simplest” of the tanking classes to play.
Shadow/Assassin – Best AOE threat of the tank classes, plus good utility with the ability to CC and stealth. Force Shroud/Resilience allows them to cheese the mechanics on some bosses. Have possibly the highest skill curve to learn.

Healing – Healing is a support role, also much needed in groups.

Commando/Mercenary – Heavy armor, mobile healers that shoot green goo through dual blasters or a BFG. Focuses on big, direct heals.
Scoundrel/Operative – Medium armor, some utility with droid CCs and stealth. Big focus on HOTs (Heals over time).
Sage/Sorcerer – Light armor, once the “king poo poo” of raid healing, they have been nerfed a bit along with the other classes buffed so it is a bit more equal. Die very quickly in PvP. loving IMPOSSIBLE TO KILL IN PVP.

LEET DPS

For DPS, you must first decide if you want to be a ranged DPS or a melee DPS. Melee DPS have a bit higher skill curve as they have to watch their placement in fights a bit closer than ranged, and involves more movement. Melee DPS classes include –

Guardian/Juggernaut – Some of their tank utility carries over into their DPS specs, allowing them to survive a bit more.
Sentinel/Marauder – Possibly the highest skill curve of the DPS classes, requires a bit of “button overload” and resource management.
Scoundrel/Operative – Relying on stealth in one spec, and DoTs in their other spec.
Shadow/Assassin – Another stealth or DoT choice.
Vanguard/Powertech - Yes, they have guns, but they are melee. Relying on fire or knives, you gotta be close.

Ranged DPS classes include –

Gunslinger/Sniper – Biggest range of all the DPS classes, you can completely avoid many attacks by fighting at max range. Specs range from mindless to a bit tougher depending on if you want direct damage or DoTs.
Sage/Sorcerer – Lightning, lightning, lightning or DoTs, DoTs, DoTs!
Commando/Mercenary – Mostly turrets that shoot missiles or gross blobs if you are a Republic character.

FEAR MY SHARK ROCKET IT REALLY SUCKS AND BLOWS
The game has Flashpoints (comparable to dungeons in WoW) beginning at level 10. Flashpoints are group instances that have additional story elements. These are optional, but if you are leveling your second or third character the side missions on planets may become redundant and you may want to try them out.

Beginning with the launch of Knights of the Fallen Empire almost all Flashpoints will have both a Veteran (previously called Tactical) and Master Mode (previously called Hard Mode) available via group finder.

Veteran Flashpoints are role neutral - 4 DPS could be grouped together, able to heal each other with healing stations scattered about.

Master Mode flashpoints require a tank, a healer and two DPS. Thanks to a "bolster" system, you will be able to group with people significantly lower than you in order to experience these flashpoints.

Flashpoints that are important to the story all now have a "Solo mode" (Called Story Mode) available which allows you to see the Flashpoint without the "talking to other people" part that people hate.

The Flashpoint story order is –

Esseles (Republic)/The Black Talon (Empire) -
Hammer Station SM HM
Athiss SM HM
Mandalorian Raiders SM HM
Cademimmu SM HM
Taral V (Republic) / Boarding Party (Empire) SM HM
Maelstrom Prison (Republic) / The Foundry (Empire)SM HM
Colicoid War Games
The Red Reaper
Directive 7
The Battle For Ilum
The False Emperor
Kaon Under Siege
Lost Island
Czerka Corporate Labs
Czerka Core Meltdown

There are additional Flashpoints that lead to the Shadows of Revan expansion –

Assault on Tython
Korriban Incursion
Depths of Manaan
Legacy of the Rakata

The Shadow of Revan flashpoints –

Blood Hunt
Battle of Rishi

Post Iokath Flashpoints (Contains spoilers for the latest storyline)

Crisis on Umbara

Operations

Operations are SWTOR’s versions of classic raids. Anyone level 50-67 will be able to queue in group finder for the "operation of the day" and will be bolstered to the appropriate level for the raid.

The first few raids became accessible at level 50, which are part of and complete the Dread Master story arc –

Eternity Vault – A secret prison long lost on Belsavis has been discovered, what secrets does it hold? (Hint – the secret includes giant bosses and puzzles)

Karagga’s Palace – You have been sent to visit Karagga the Hutt, who has violated an agreement with your faction. What secrets will you find in his Palace? (Hint – the secrets include giant bosses and puzzles. Hope you like Tower of Hanoi!)

Explosive Conflict – A fierce Trandoshan mercenary known as Warlord Kephess has invaded the planet of Denova, and you are sent to defeat him. Who does he serve? What secret is he hiding? (Hint – his secret is giant bosses, and puzzles. Hope you like Minesweeper!)

Terror From Beyond – On the distant planet Asation, a Hypergate has been opened, unleashing bizarre creatures from Tron THE BEYOND onto an unsuspecting world. Who is behind the Hypergate and what is their plan? (Hint – Their plan involves giant bosses, and an annoying as hell puzzle that is prejudiced against the color blind)

Scum & Villainy – On Darvannis, a group of Cartel Pirates have made their presence known. You are sent to defeat them, and find out who is TRULY behind their dastardly deeds! (Hint – Shockingly, this also has giant bosses, along with a puzzle.)

The Dread Fortress – The true villains have been revealed! You invade their Fortress on Oricon, with the hopes of defeating Dread Master Brontes (Hint – Who is protected by giant bosses, and a puzzle. THE INTRUDERS ARE HERE LOCK DOWN ALL ENTRIES)

The Dread Palace – Dread Master Brontes and Styrak have been defeated, and rather than stretch the remaining four out for another four raids, now you get to meet them in their very homes! Which are filthy! But you’ll find that the Dread Masters have prepared for your entrance (With giant bosses, and
puzzles!)

Finally, the next set of raids introduced with Shadows of Revan –

The Ravagers – More Pirates! More Bosses! More puzzles!

Temple of Sacrifice – Finally, it’s time to confront Revan! But in order to get to him, you’ll never guess what you have to get through! (Bosses…puzzles…)

The newest Operation is Gods From the Machine, which is an incomplete Operation releasing one boss at a time. This takes place after the events of KOTET and KOTFE.

Operations have several versions -

Story Mode, designed to be accessible to anyone level 50-70 and designed mostly for casual play and people who want to see the story.

Veteran Mode, which is for progression raiders and where the best gear drops.

Master modes, which drops the same gear level as Hard Mode but has increasingly difficult mechanics. Not all raids have a Master version, but those that do offer rewards other than standard gear - Decorations, Mounts, plus your e-peen will be HUGE if you get the achievement.

Here's a nice simple flowchart for the story order -

I've put together a list of all the short stories and story-like blogs that have been posted on the main SWTOR site. For those who don't know, the SWTOR writers sometimes write little short stories that serve as flavor for current or upcoming content and post them on the main site. The problem is that as far as I know there's no specific place on their site to go back and read them all at, you have to sift through all the other news posts to find them. So I made a list containing the links to them since I think a lot of them are pretty cool and newer players might not have seen them.

I've split them into 3 categories: Companion articles, which include little developer blogs about all of the classes first companions (minus Qyzen and Khem Val) and the blogs about the GSF companions. Shadow of Revan? Sadly yes
KOTFE and KOTET? God Yes. Amazing poo poo. Twice. Once as Dark, once as Light
Iokath and Umbara? Iokath, yes. Umbara, I don't think so.
All the old mini areas like CZ-198, Oricon and Section X? No No and No. is that possible to do solo?

CZ-198, Section X, Black Hole can be 100% solo'd. Oricon can be mostly solo'd but ends with two Operations (Dread Fortress and Dread Palace).

Trying to make the posts a bit easier to parse through. That's a work in progress. :) That way it'll be easier to link people directly to the crafting post, rather than just saying "Read the OP"

Imperial Agent is James Bond. Jedi Knight is Luke Skywalker.

May as well answer for new players.

Usual consensus is Imperial Agent for a less traditional Star Wars story, and Sith Warrior if you want a more traditional sort - with the caveat that Sith Warrior also works very well if you play against type as a light-sider.

Most classes play to a specific character from the movies:

Sith Warrior: Darth Vader
Sith Inquisitor: Emperor Palpatine
Bounty Hunter: Boba Fett
Imperial Agent: James Bond (theoretically, Grand Moff Tarkin - the regular human who was bossing Vader around in A New Hope)

Jedi Knight: Luke Skywalker
Jedi Consular: Yoda
Trooper: Commander Shepard (well, generic storm/clone troopers)
Smuggler: Han Solo

What's your lag looking like on Harby? You getting the massive lag that everyone is unsubscribing for today?

I'm playing at 21ms as we speak and the only thing dragging me down is the amount of Conquest scrubbies in the queue when there isn't even any freaking Conquest.

Server mergers are 11/8. I expect Star Forge will most likely be the busier server.

Yeah, no one reads notes that there's no Conquest until mergers. Sigh.

Oh...I see they did or are moving the WC servers to the EC. I'm in Texas with a 600 mbps connection so that's neither here nor there for me.

Yeah they put the EC and WC servers on the same server group. They said they tested it and there was no noticeable performance degradation, but people are losing their poo poo that their latency has skyrocketed and "YOU LIED TO US! YOU DECEIVED US! CANCEL MY SUB IMMEDIATELY!"

Oh good call, I forgot to include our guild info. We'll be on the East Coast server after the merge (Star Forge) and currently on Jedi Covenant.

Vancian Roulette
I started playing again about a month ago after bailing out post-launch. Had 50 IA back at game launch, haven't touched him since. It was peak TOR as far as I was concerned at the time.

But TOR is pretty good now, I can finally do the stories and some solo dungeons and ignore all the other crap. Have finished a few 1-50 class quests since, trying to figure out which class I want to take through the 50+ content.

Since returning, I did a 50 sith warrior, mostly light side. It felt like being a totally reasonable murderer. Companions were ok, nothing special really, and only one that I wanted to murder. Then did a 50 Consular, dark side, which wasn't as bad as everyone said it would be. I liked gathering the army, and the companions didn't mind dark side actions at all. They were fine with murdering and whatnot. Currently working on a dark side Bounty Hunter, just got Skadge. He's awesome after 40 levels of Mako looking on with disappointment whenever I, you know, play as a loving bounty hunter.

Some recommendations for anyone else returning:
-Use a friend code, it's worth it for the extra inventory row alone. Requires no effort on your part.
-Speaking of codes, there's a couple floating around for free mounts, use them all too
-If you like healing, healing specs are totally viable solo. Just set your companion to DPS (not tank) and they will happily murder everything while you chip in DPS and sometimes heal. I did consular and now BH as a healer.

I gots all the codes in the OP!

I try to keep it updated throughout the year, if anyone gets a message that a code is expired just let me know. I monitor this thread and a few other SWTOR forums like it's a full time job while I'm at my full time job.

To be fair they do that when things like the several year old, previously-sub-only kotor swoop gets given out for free to everybody, too.

On the subject of class stories if you want to play a snotty space bigot Jedi Consular is right for you. There are so many options for talking to people like they're wasting your precious Jedi time. The only thing missing is being able to call someone a big stupid jellyfish. The female VA is perfect for this.
