Mike Sanders being a possible NWA title contender might actually be more dire than "Nick Aldis, NWA Champion". What the hell did everyone see in Mike Sanders?

Going back through some old B&V Retro Raw/Nitro shows and there's one where they're talking about Flair trying to cut a promo but not sure which camera to use, and now I'm waiting for them to hit the shambling last days of 2001 Nitro where everyone cutting a backstage promo is not looking at the camera at all, like they're talking to someone just off-screen.

Bryan's rant on the latest B&V Show about Cactus Jack was utterly bizarre. I get what he was trying to say but what an absolutely weird reason not to like what was a great promo in front of a hot crowd to build to what would be a fantastic match.

I get it too but I feel like Bryan is forgetting that, at the time, the crowd bought into the idea that Foley's weird multiple personality disorder made a difference in how he wrestled (to the point he was allowed, in kayfabe, to be 3 different royal rumble entries). Like this is something they spent years doing, and went a lot more in on it than they did with Finn vs. Demon. That said Bryan's meltdown is hilarious especially Craig's low-key "mommy and daddy are fighting again".

For contrast, listen to the JCP/NWA recaps. Both Bryan and Vinny love the Road Warriors on those shows, because they weren't old and busted and/or part of a terrible substance abuse angle.

its week 1 of Bryan relistening to Mark Madden

the pivot will come soon

Yeah I chuckled when Vinny announced Mark Madden was on commentary not long after Bryan's meltdown. For all his faults (some of which aren't his but the fault of a senile old man yelling in his ear) Cole does have the ability to do fine commentary (his call of Mankind's win in 1999, Daniel Bryan's win at WM30). Mark Madden brings nothing to the table, and what's worse is he's replacing Bobby Heenan who even when drunk and not giving a poo poo is still better. I would rather listen to 3 Michael Coles than one Mark Madden

I had to break this up into two parts because it goes 3+ hours. Part 1 goes through Gabe nearly losing his poo poo on him during the Gang Wars of 07. You might not think Erick Stevens would be a really funny interview, but he is. Great Roderick Strong stories, Gabe stories, his hatred of the Florida indies, burials of everyone who deserves it, doing TNA dark matches, it goes on and on. I can't say enough great things about Erick or thank him enough for doing this.

I listened to this today on the way to and from work and it was great. As someone who didn't see a lot of indy wrestling in the 2000s this was very funny and informative.

I'm sure I'm getting this wrong but I thought one of the big things in shareholder meetings for WWE was "did the subscription numbers for the network go up?" Now I'm guessing getting $80 million/year from the Saudis is probably going to mean that doesn't matter, but I could've sworn it was something that the company spent a lot of focus on.
