I should have paid more attention to Motorcycle racing earlier. It kicks rear end.
Not all of it. BSB seems pretty good, races at great tracks like Brands Hatch, but I keep missing the races so I'm not sure about all of it. WSBK seems to have been pretty boring the last few years. MotoGP has been unusually good the last few years but when I started watching Lorenzo would just run away with every race unless it was wet.

What about Laia Sanz? She had a top 10 finish in Dakar a couple years back on a bike. And that's a real race, unlike F1.

My auntie died from cancer and on her last day she said, 'I've worked every day with the plan of stopping one day and doing all these different things, and then I ran out of time.' So I'm battling with that in my mind.

So I do live my life day-by-day and try to live it to the maximum. So that's what I'm fighting with – I want to keep racing but there are these other things I want to do. I want my cake and I want to eat it. I just want to make sure I choose the right time, but I think I will.
That's a really thoughtful and likeable thing for him to say. Not that I like him.

I'm pretty sure the meltdown was over the German flag. Unless the same thing happened with the Korean GP. The German GP was on the calendar but it was tentative as no track had officially taken it. So if it wasn't officially at any track it can't officially be in Germany so how can you put the German flag on it? That's highly presumptuous.

To be fair to the wikipedia sperglords, we did have a European GP outside of Europe.

Sounds like Honda! Back in the 80s they ran a GP bike with oval pistons because they wanted to effectively run a v8 but the rules said max 4 cylinders. And they ran a bike with an exoskeleton frame. Neither one went anywhere and they gave up and made a normal 2t like everyone else and eventually won some stuff.

I think an average of 2 competitors die a year in Dakar? Similar to IoM. But that doesn't count all the locals run over by the support trucks in the liaison stages. I think on average less than half the people who enter the race finish the race too.

I think the big question is what are all the rich dads giving their kids to play with at age 5. Presuming rich families are mostly patriarchal and sexist, dads are not giving their daughters karts to play with. Missed the opportunity to make a top level professional race car driver right there, can't make up for it at any point in the after that.
