Man goes to LA, visits only disneyland, downtown shantytowns, comic book stores and hollywood shithole tourism strip, lol. And it's the coldest it's been in like 10 years. right click, save as "rhyno.txt" nm posted:Mario's (Peruvian) Hells yes on the Mario's.

It's a dry cold, 65 and a slight breeze with 3% humidity feels a hundred times colder than 45 and 40% humidity. Rhyno, If you've only been to San Diego, San Diego is like what Los Angeles would be if it was created in a vat designed to be as California-Lite as possible while not offending anyone. In LA: Go to Mario's Peruvian, there's two guys here independently telling you to do it and to get the Lomo Saltado and a shitload of the aji sauce. Nothing like that anywhere. It's also surprisingly economical. Eat sushi, you can throw a broken PT Cruiser Eat autentico mexican, which means there'll be no lettuce in the burritos like they do up Midwest Way. Go to Koreatown and have all you can eat BBQ. Go eat fresh shrimp anywhere along the beach between Redondo and Malibu. Then to really cap off your honeymoon, take your lady to Providence, you will not have a better meal anywhere in the world. Rhyno posted:My wife gives no shits about cars or alternately, quit getting free terrible cars, learn to drive RWD, and maybe she'll get into the idea!

Since Rhyno's trip so far has been Del Taco in San Diego followed by watching office workers do work, in offices....but the word Warner Brothers is on the front door I had to drive down Sunset for a minute yesterday so here's some LA Tourism Photos you can pretend he posted At least he heeded our warnings not to go to Hollywood!

Lazy poor people scamming the system for $1500 a year in income tax avoidance pay far more, proportionate to their remaining 'fun' money (to spend on sweet stuff like electricity, water & power, heat, and food) than do rich people thanks to sales taxes and gasoline taxes and all the other income-not-considered fees people have to pay to live anywhere that maintains a relatively functional police force, street lights, schooling system, etc.

rdb posted:EIC is a lot more than $1500. Its not tax avoidance, its getting a large amount back that you never put in. The anecdote about his sister getting $7k back, she may have only put in $1k to begin with. The rest of her “refund” is actually earned income credit. It may have been a little fraudulent in her case since the children’s father was paying all the bills. Its usually reserved for people who file as “head of household” IE single parent. I was being a bit facetious calling it that, I have a real hard time caring about $whatever k in people gaming the income tax system when we let our extremely successful multinational corporations walk away with hundreds of billions in profits while paying almost nothing in tax. I'm all for social safety nets, and paying the taxes that keep them functioning. Keeping people from having to do desperate things is how you reduce crime. People by and large don't crime it up if they have a reason not to, and people not in the penal system are more likely to become contributing members of society. Rhyno posted:It's raining. We're gonna go relax before dinner, hopefully it stops in 3 hours. LOL, it hasn't rained here for this long continuously in like 9 months. Nice work, single-handedly solving the CA drought - you should visit more often. Have you explained to your landlubber wiffo that pollo and lomo saltados (from Mario's)(it's what you eat at Mario's) are not seafood yet no matter what Yelp says?

A) You can log into the treasury department's website and they'll send the funds to your bank like 2 days later. B) You're gonna have to pay income tax on that $5200 https://www.treasurydirect.gov/indiv/research/indepth/ebonds/res_e_bonds_eeredeem.htm

Cool, sounds like you have it under control - I just know that I found myself on the 'What? You have to pay taxes on this??" end of a few smallish payments like that once and then was surprised at tax-time.

That's an amazing coincidence, Rhyno, my name IRL is Zachary "Zack" Morris and girls were constantly swarming me at the mall and poo poo. Horrible! lmao at your plight, no offense, it probably sucked at the time but you have to admit it's a pretty good story to tell now. How is it you only manage to find the worst midwestern states to live in, though? South Dakota is possibly even worse than Indiana!

Hey TT We also got a 4th dinner in the 8 man Squad 'Event' and are now 1-for-1 100% on that mode which is now on the live servers. Pretty fun, definitely check it out if you haven't tried it - our game with 4 randos was like the bank heist scene from "Heat" the entire round and then we pulled off a sweet platoon-style pincer maneuver to finish the last 9 guys.

Metal Geir Skogul posted:Sorry, I tried to visit LA yesterday when you guys started talking about it but I'm still stuck in tomorrow's rush hour traffic 20 miles outside of the city limits. I don't buy this, I drove from Phoenix to my house on the west side of Los Angeles on a sunday afternoon in 4 hours and 51 minutes once and that included stopping for gas twice, and Phoenix is at least 30 miles outside the city limits of Los Angeles. FAT32 SHAMER posted:Weve spent most of our time in West Hollywood and santanmonica so lol Almost as if the people who go to the right places in LA find LA to be very amenable and the ones who go to Disney and the Ripley's Believe it Or Not!
