My JSP seems alright, technically they've helped get me some jobs (temporary contract work but still) and they seem to specialise more in assistance for disabled workers than actually finding jobs, but hell, beats having to fill out 20 job apps every month. Naturally, they seem underfunded. (office lost its admin person a while ago, and is literally around the back of a porn shop)

JBP I can understand where you are coming from. It's quite possible that you're right and we've all been so primed by toxicity over the last few years that articles about the problems with a lack of investment in infrastructure (which is the actual problem) discussing immigration seems like it's setting up political goalkicking from Tony Abbott et al. In the context of the recent rhetoric coming out of them to me it feels gross, but that might just be because I expect the worst these days.

This is absolutely playing into the conservative hands as well, given they use immigration to distract people from inadequate and crumbling infrastructure.

Placing blame with immigration and thus immigrants for the issues we have in this country is total bullshit though and I'm mad at that.

It's so depressing how their entire campaign was just making GBS threads on the progress SA has made over the last few years. The state always had a difficult transition ahead of it, but the Liberals are entirely unequipped and incapable of handling it.

The state can't afford not to change, and this election is the most frustratingly "Adelaide" thing imaginable.

So what's the post-mortem? I can't bring myself to research outside this thread to find out how hosed we are, but I always assumed poo poo's going to get worse around here anyway. Guessing best case scenario is the Libs are floundering one-termers who've long forgotten how to do anything, though they probably smash as much infrastructure as they can on the way out either way.
