A lifetime ago, back in middle school, a classmate had a vhs copy of some movie with him in his backpack, I don't remember what specifically, some pedestrian actioner. He asked me what I thought of it and seeing that I thought it was kinda lame I said it was ok, nothing special. He took this a deep affront and barked back in perfect sincerity that it was "an action-packed adrenaline thrill-ride!" His taking to heart some review blurb/nonsense printed on the slip case blew my mind. You seem a lot like that kid.

I do have to admire the sheer brass balls required to make a movie in the Conjuring series about every skeptic's go-to example about why the Warrens weren't just frauds, they were dangerous frauds. I wonder if Sony realizes that, since they keep rebooting spiderman every few years, they will never make enough standalone movies in the same continuity to build up six villains beforehand, so crossing continuities is the only way they'll get it done.

Yesssssss! This is based on the book "The Cabin at the End of the World" and I loving loved it. It was one of those books that got the rights purchased but I just assumed would never get made.

Kind of excited to see Shyamalan take it on. Hopefully he does a bit better with rails. But it's definitely material made for him.
