The reason why people don't care about Russia is because it's obvious that not even the succdems care in their heart of hearts. It's the same old story of the centrists screaming about how X is the worst and you need to support the Dems unquestioningly because of that while they themselves aren't acting in an even remotely appropriate manner to what one would expect if they really believed what they're saying. Like, think about it, if the President is literally being mind controlled by a hostile foreign power, then wouldn't that be grounds for getting a gun and starting up the urban guerilla instead of writing a million outraged tweets a day? But they don't so how can you believe that they believe, and if you can't believe that then why believe the claim?

The real reason for why the Russia story matters is because the succdems have built a literal cult around it where not only even any amount of scepticism in but even insufficient enthusiasm for the chosen narrative is grounds for declaring somebody a secret Russian traitor who wants every possible bad thing simultaneously, cf. Accretionist for the past few pages ITT. Essentially they're rerunning the whole Hillary 2016 script and it'll work about as well.
