Apparently most of East Asia (aside from Japan of course) never got any Transformers media up until the Michael Bay movies, so for most people in that region the movie versions are the main versions of characters, and the classic versions are much less popular.

This doesn't necessarily have anything to do with that GIF, I just think it's interesting.

As a G1 fan (80s cartoons or bust) this makes me intensely sad.
