Here jetski = personal water craft which would be only slightly more useful for an offshore rescue than a canoe. Or maybe the Coasties like to kick back and have some fun in big waves every once in a while?

Yep, that's a jetski. Might be next to useless for rescues, but looks real good when you're cruising the beach all summer trying to pick up.

the water hitting the extremely hot rock would create superheated steam which would then geyser back out of the hole, making a fuckin sweet fountain. probably wouldn't be great for holding the water though

would you like it back now?

Im in outback Aus, proper semi-arid climate. We built a huge dam start off the year that's big enough to capture 1 in 60 year rain events.

It's overflowed 4 times this year, we've had to set up a permanent pump to keep it down so it doesn't chew out one of the walls.

The coming drought will suuuccccckkkkkkk (or this is new normal, who knows)

Nah, spring just arrived is all. Right after the traditional monsoon season 20°S of where it normally stops.

I'm sure we'll get a nice 10+ year summer end of 2023.

Good post.

Am I reading this right in that a strong El Nino might actually tip us back to la Nina preferred? I'm guessing no given the droughts in the 2000s in Aus were fairly severe.

I will bank on drought and fire, of course, because that's just how this continental rolls.
