Real question: how safe, generally, is hacking a switch? I kinda like the idea of themes other than the base one but if it's a huge pain or locks anything out I won't bother.

monster hunter fans get really mad when you suggest that maybe the games are kind of newbie unfriendly. i hadn't played any until world and i bounced off of world like three separate times before i picked hammer and it finally clicked. i loving love it now (and rise is so much better) but neither of the games have very good tutorials whatsoever, especially given that the tutorials consist largely of a bunch of tiny text they throw at you one after the other right when you start the game and it's super easy to get overwhelmed.

the games are worth persevering in and learning, but i hugely recommend you have a friend or forum or discord channel or whatever that you can barrage with questions because you will have a million of them and the game is absolutely poo poo at answering specific questions.

monster hunter rules, but their tutorial system is absolutely poo poo. just terrible.

i'm at like wielder level 8? and on mall floor 10 or so. wielder level (and increasing bond level) definitely helps, but not enough i feel like. idk it just feels kinda slow.

i never did any of the endgame stuff in hollow knight. never saw the 'true ending' or any of the dlc stuff. i fought the regular-rear end final boss and said yep, i'm done with this game. it was fine but not amazing. there are definitely way better metroidvanias out there, and there are also way worse.
