Gamexplain's review is out, at least. There's a lot of variety, but they feel like a lot of that variety could have been fleshed out more. It's a major step in the right direction, though, and if you have a good set of friends, you're gonna have a great time.

From what I've heard, it's more forgiving and keeps your items/status after you die, though there is an optional permadeath mode.

The orchestrated versions of the tracks are slightly better than the midi, but yeah, it gets grating. Which sucks because the tunes are pretty good. And it's all because the homophobic war crime denier who's composed for the series for 30+ years has full copyright on his compositions and intentionally uses midi because it's "traditional" and definitely not because he can sell a bunch of different orchestration albums of it and get all the money. Koichi Sugiyama is a piece of poo poo and pretty much everyone is waiting for him to keel over so Hayato Matsuo can take over.
