I vote for:

1) Angels because oh my god we could definitely put together a better team around Trout and Ohtani
2) Padres because let's build something out of nothing

These are my votes too (and because honestly I think there is real talent in SD.)

I doubt there's an answer to this but the PCL is a hitter-friendly league, did Burkhart actually help guys develop power above and beyond what they would get from park factors or is it all eyewash?!

Cubs posters can probably disagree with me here, but Chatwood might be a decent pickup given that he's going from Wrigley to Petco for most of his games.

Chatwood's problem in real life is a total inability to throw strikes, park doesn't factor into it. I assume OOTP mirrors this problem.

B, but keep an eye on the second WC maybe? The payroll and prospect flexibility mean we could always buy big and make a run if we're close.

As far as the manager question goes, who is available to us?

Try to sign Cole. That's probably unpopular, but lock a dude in now given we know we're going to go for it within a year or two.

Also hell yes I already said Sign Astudillo For Life.

Another interesting trade target emerged: Blake Treinen. We can have him for the low, low price of a Franchy Cordero. He's a top shelf reliever on a one year contract; he probably will want a ton of money to extend but would almost certainly bring more than Franchy at the deadline, if we choose not to extend him. Plus, this frees up an OF slot for Seth Beer, who is almost certainly ML ready.

As much as I love Franchy, Bring Me The Witch And A Nice Cold Beer.

I kind of feel bad for dealing all the Padres homegrown dudes whose name I know, but if all it takes is Smith/Margot for Big Maple, go for it if they're expendable anyway. Trade for Paxton.

I would like to wait for the ASB too but if we gotta deal the guys it would take to get him now...

Also Bradley's gotta play, I wanna see that dude hit all the dingers.

1. C: Trade Urias for prospects. Let Lugo and Matheny fight for his spot in ST unless one is a clearly better option for some reason.
2. Non-tender Bradley. Sucks but he's cooked.
3. Plan to start Naylor at 1B... for now. Give BLAZE a look in ST. If he's absolutely killing it, start his season in AAA to make sure it's legit and call him up once he's Super Two if he is. If he struggles, then we let him marinate for another year and look for a potential in-season trade that could bring back a rental 1B as needed.
