That bit about Florida's Hispanic population is incredibly depressing. What the hell would make Republicans attractive down there outside of the ever-shrinking population of Cuban exile dickheads who still think it's 1960?

I had read that ”socialism = Venezuela” arguments may have resonated with portions of the South American/Cuban Latino population in that area of Florida.

I don’t know if the evidence bears that out at all but I guess it’s worth investigating.

Gillum talking about foreign policy was a bit of an unforced error. I don't live in Florida but I'm betting the GOP took full advantage.

I think the McCain effect probably helped. Did McSally ever condemn Trump for making GBS threads on his grave or did she let it go by the board?

Guess the old bastard did two good things in his twilight years--killing the Obamacare repeal and (inadvertently) getting a Democrat elected in Arizona.

gently caress Bill Mitchell; he doesn't get to play the "I was the puppetmaster all along; I meant to get my rear end kicked! Are you owned yet, libs?!" game. Assuming that Democrats do what they are promising--between the investigations and the (albeit ill-fated) progressive legislation--Democrats will keep the House in 2020 unless Hillary is the loving candidate again.

I'm so tired of the right (and to some extent the left) pretending that every piece of news will somehow benefit Donald Trump. He isn't invincible, politically or otherwise. We just proved that last week, didn't we? I get that 2016 gave us all horrendous PTSD, but we just got through a pretty good 2018 midterm cycle. Maybe it's time to come out from behind the bushes.

We just got rid of the losers so we can MAGA in 2020! Those house seats were sour anyway! The Democrats fell right into our trap, now we have them right where we want them: in the majority!

Not easily winnable but if the race is somewhere between 10 and 5 right now I can see a path to victory where Republicans are bummed and stay home and Dems are energized.

I think that polling firm does internal work for Democrats, so it may not be gospel truth--but boy I wish there were a few more weeks before this race. Espy could have won it with more time.

He's screaming about it being legal to run his business while he was a candidate because it obfuscates the larger legal issues--like what he was offering Russia to "help" him during the campaign. Yell "IT'S LEGAL TO BE A BUSINESSMAN WHILE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT, STUPID LIBS!" and eventually that will become the right-wing talking point they use to circle the wagons.

Point is that these new revelations about Manafort and Cohen have reopened the wound, and they are desperately trying to seal it closed with more lies and half-truths before anyone wakes up out of their stupor and goes "Hey, um...maybe you did do something wrong."
