Beat Owl (Father) yesterday, easily the most satisfying fight in the game. Skipped the Demon of Hatred on this playthrough, I'm in it for the sword fights more than the giant creature fights and this one wasn't any fun. Probably go for it for real in another playthrough when I've got more attack power, plus apparently if you give the sculptor each type of sake to get all of his lore dialogue you get extra dialogue before and after the demon fight and I didn't manage to do that this time around. All that's left is the final boss fight!

Silver spoon chewing shithead is unworthy of my gourd  Fell to Isshin's first phase a whole lot because I kept trying to aggressively combo instead of letting him do his patterns, countering him and then hacking away

The progression with Genichiro is so good. The first fight he wrecks you, the second fight is likely to be a serious wall, and the last fight you're expected to obliterate him without taking any damage and most of the time you're able to do it. I really hope FromSoft keeps going with Vergil-style rival bosses because it rules.

If you haven’t played them yet I highly recommend the harder versions of genichiro, owl and isshin in the boss gauntlets. They added some fantastic new tricks, especially to owl

On NG+ now without giving up Kuro's Charm and lol this is fun, just blasting through everything like a cannon. Even beat the intro Genichiro boss but obviously you get your arm chopped off no matter what but you appear to not get anything for beating him other than different dialogue where Genichiro calls you a bastard

Most of what held me up on my first playthrough was not even attempting to parry certain things because I assumed they couldn't be but drat near everything that isn't an outright death attack can be deflected if not necessarily blocked

Going for the Shura ending and Emma has been kicking my rear end left and right, oy. Cadence for this one is juuust different enough for me to keep loving it up. Don't need to remember to stay humble because this game will do it for you
