“the the one show show” is mildly endearing in how they mock a British lite-entertainment interview show

they really do

for another happy podcast there is also the "the The One Show show" which is also really funny and also has great chemistry amongst its presenters (and also has a fair number of female comics on) . Its based around mocking a really crappy U.K. "lite entertainment" show called The One Show, but amusingly the actual TV presenters are evidently aware of the show and seem to have gotten really self conscious about the stupid comments they always seem to make, which makes it really meta

I don't quite understand living in an extremely expensive city when you make your living as a podcaster. Even if they had to buy a bunch of plane tickets that's gotta be cheaper than NYC rent.

it’s something common to most creative arts where your need to be in a certain area to meet people / make contacts , otherwise you’re a bit more isolated and might struggle to make the same quality of content

Is there a RWN episode (or any podcast for that matter) about international sanctions? What their purpose is, what they actually do, and if they work (I'm guessing they don't). Every week it seems the US puts new sanctions on Iran, but I don't understand how they can keep coming up with more things to sanction. Seems like one of those lovely things the US does that there's a lot more to say about that the press never explores.

I recall they discuss sanctions a lot when they discuss Obama / the Middle East - Latina America (lol everywhere). often from the standpoint that it’s essentially siege warfare and that as a tool it’s ineffectually used to force the middle / lower classes to rise up

I do find it quite amusing how bad the production of “well there’s your problem is”, but overall I think it’s endearing , as opposed to a by-the-numbers Iheartradio sausage factory podcast style

Knowledge Fight is an interesting one to track from the beginning. Dan's always been three steps more centrist liberal than Jordan but they both started out as Obama fawning trust-the-authorities libs. The first episode is Dan doing a big noble speech in the "Disagree with what Alex Jones says but will defend to the death" etc etc vein.

Over time this has shifted. Sometimes gradually. Sometimes in fits and starts when much lauded lib ideas like the impeachment go down in flames, or when Alex gets away with yet another flagrantly illegal endangerment of innocent people.

Now Dan's in a permanent crisis of confidence and Jordan's basically a C-SPAMmer. It's fun, you get to listen to the crack ping happen.

I was astonished the same process was also happening to the huge lib co-host on Mark Blythes podcast, although she seems to be a bit less “burn it all down” recently
