It's actually closer to the strawman of Edelgard's plan people who don't like her trot out than it is to something actually feasible.

I love Claude but I never really felt like he was as much of a schemer as advertised. I don't know if I'd prefer he was more of a schemer in the game or if they just removed that descriptor.

It did feel like how Dynasty/Samurai Warriors games always treat "strategy" as some magic spell and no one actually engages in actual strategy. Just proof that Koei made the game.

Is Steal even useful? I kept two characters in Thief long enough to get it, but I haven't seen any weapons/items worth using a turn to snatch.

So, from what I can tell, you only get stat bumps for the first certification you get for each tier. And, even then, it isn't guaranteed. I just got Jeritza classed as a Dark Knight, and he didn't get anything. Shima didn't get anything for unlocking Bow Knight. Lin got maybe a +2 cha for unlocking Bishop? But Lysithea got an absurd +8 def plus a smattering of other stuff for unlocking Warlock. :psyduck:

You can preview what stat up the character will get. Go to the page of the class that shows the stat increases and hover over each. The increases to "base" are the increases that you're looking for.

I spent a ton of money on seals on my last run just classing people into classes that I didn't actually use. Just remember you can only do one certification per character per week.

Also remember to save before trying to certify people and reload if they fail. Whether they succeed or fail is predetermined each week so once you've tried for the week you know who's worth certifying into what and can save seals. Less risk of losing a seal or a week of certifying someone if you try one of the 40% chance classes since you can just restart.

So, who/what class does everyone like to put their +movement equips/items on? Dancer? Flier? Tiny Murder Machine? Byleth?

Putting them on a beefy flier like Claude or your Dancer is probably OP, but I like the meme factor of putting them on a Nuke Mage w/ +range staff or Fortress Knight w/ A ranked bows. :v:

Yuri's relic went to my dancer. Canto and +1 move helped them keep up with the rest which was a problem in my first playthrough where I actually used a dancer.

The other +move items I get I've given to my mages so they could keep up with all my mounted units. I'm impatient and hate when it takes forever for the units to cross the map so I use a lot of dark/holy/bow knights which I think goes against what other people tend to recommend. I haven't played maddening yet though so I don't really care that the mounted classes have less speed growth or whatever.

Is there any reason to recruit as many people as you can aside from seeing their stories develop? It feels at this point like it makes more sense to focus on a core group of about 12 so that I can realistically keep them all reasonably leveled up.

From a story perspective I would just try to recruit and gain supports with the people your lord and their retainer have supports with and go from there.

I'm in my fourth playthrough, and one mechanic I still haven't figured out is the yields in the greenhouse. What controls whether you get one two or three points? Sometimes cultivating increases the points, but sometimes even the most expensive option results in no change.

I'm doing this playthrough in Japanese since I've seen the game three times already. It's interesting how some of the lines are slightly different than they were in English. Almyra is "Parumira" in Japanese. I'm not sure why the translator decided to forgo the "P" in the translation. Maybe because it's named after a real place and they didn't want to offend anyone?

Also, Bernadetta's Japanese voice is ridiculously high-pitched and squeaky.

The greenhouse is weird as gently caress, one thing I did read/figure out is don't mix flowers with other seeds you'll only get flowers. My only goal with the greenhouse was to get enough food to do all the meals I wanted and found that I was better off choosing multiples of the same type of seed instead of mixing and matching.

I remember those being pretty tough. It kind of all comes down to how you built your team I guess. I had Byleth on one side who drew the Pegasus knights and destroyed them and Ferdinand, Bernie, and Shamir took the other side with my dodge tank Dancer Ferdinand drawing the knights and the archers cleaning them up. I definitely had to Divine Pulse a bunch to find the right positioning to get only Byleth and Ferdie engaged.

I've been told that the answers to some of my story/setting questions are found in the DLC story, so I got that. But, to my surprise, I'm not liking it at all. The setup to get the plot rolling is weak, I don't like the new characters and I'm stuck with two old characters with personalities that grate on me in the fixed party. That stuff I can tolerate, but the maps themselves are giving my pause. In general it seems like my units have significantly less accuracy and evasion even without special floor tiles at play. I have the difficulty as low as possible, but every map has been a tiring onslaught of enemy units I slowly have to crunch through. I got halfway through the map with the golems, realized that the swarm of golems that spawned in will probably dismantle my units over 30 painstaking minutes and put it down.

Am I missing something? I want to experience these story tidbits but the gameplay is discouraging.

Um excuse me, Ashe is a wonderful soft boy, and Hilda and Linhardt are goals, honestly. And even if you mean the lords, they're all great. I don't even like Dimitri that much but I do like him in White Clouds.

There are some inter party supports you need to get before the time skip or you're locked out, Felix and Dimitri's C support is one of them based on a quick google I just did.

My AM run I recruited a lot of people but not everyone, was just trying to fill out supports with the Blue Lions students.

The worst thing about this game is that with the exception of the lords(maybe) every characters worst support chain is with Byleth. Leonie and Lorenz suck with Byleth but check their supports with Marianne, you’ll see a completely different side of them. You also really should talk to everyone every month at the monastery because you get extra bits of their personality.
