Soulfire gives the spell lifelink. Once Command resolves and everything comes back the spell is longer on the stack so you can't gain any life from it. If you want to get all the things back you have to have Soulfire in play already or something else to mitigate the damage.

In the actual set Battle for Zendikar green was pretty much undraftable. It got better once the second set came out but still wasnt great. I know it was a bad format, but I drafted the hell out of BFZ and forced devoid most of the time and did really well.
