I hate to overreact but, this is the best trailer I have ever seen in my life.

Baron von Eevl posted:My last experience at KOP loving sucked and made me want to never go back there, I'll probably see 2une at bryn mawr on a reasonably sized screen but without some divorced dad trying to beat up a vaping teenager for ruining the one weekend a month he gets with his kid. weird, I have not had any issues in KOP ( I usually go to the later showing in this case 11:00pm)

q: how good is the dune miniseries? I would like to watch it after dunc2. Also what is the right pronunciation for Harkonnen? the dunc or 1984/audiobook

btw saw part of the first EP of the miniseries, it has some weird choices, like the part where Paul says that he is not on the mood happens at the end unlike dunc and the book. Also as another poster mentioned, Paul’s actor is distracting. Timothee is not 15 but he has a baby face so you can accept it The Emperor tho is a good cast. Need to see more

Red Rox posted:I have seen, my brothers, and it was glorious. I have seen it too in IMAX and yes there are some changes from the book or characters that do not appear but it is a movie adaptation not a literal re-telling of the book it was definitely an experience like no movie I have seen before 9/10

u_s_eh posted:Experienced it in 15/70 at King of Prussia last night and thought the volume was perfect. Loud, but not too loud. Didn’t need to use my earplugs. Saw some dude on Reddit complain that it was too quiet. I assume the guy wanted the literal hearing damage levels that usually plague IMAX showings. I know I’m old, but I just don’t understand why people want to be deafened I saw it there too last night and going back again tomorrow night. Amazing showing

the way Feyd mockingly repeats Paul’s “may your knife chip and shatter” line was so good. Attention to detail can be seen in every frame of this movie aledesma fucked around with this message at 18:14 on Mar 2, 2024 |

disposablewords posted:Other noble houses are probably angry, but technically the Harkonnens followed the proper forms as far as anyone else knows and they can't wholly object. The Atreides had their part in pursuing vendetta, so legally it was "earned" because they clearly weren't ready to stand up to it. The only thing that got covered up was the Emperor's involvement, as him taking sides in a house war is the broader nobility's worst fears coming true: using someone like the Harkonnens as his hatchetmen to start picking apart the rest of the nobility.
