Glasgow, North East, in a CLP that is rigged by the Orange Order and chaired by a former BNP activist (i wish I was making this up).

In Glasgow most of the CLP execs are ran by Progress types, a lot of militarist/Trident lovers too. Know a lot of members of my CLP campaigned for Kate Watson rather than Paul Sweeney because he was Catholic. Our 2021 MSP candidate was selected due to the Order being able to mobilise support for him. The situation in Glasgow is pretty dire due to these kinds of allegiances, deals and mobilisations. The Order is pretty much able to march due the debt that a lot of councillors owe them, as a lot of the local wards only return Labour candidates due to their steadfast commitment to unionism.

Matt Kerr has launched a challenge for Scottish Labour's Deputy Leader. He recently walked out of Glasgow City Chambers rather than support a city budget based on austerity principles. He is a supporter of tenants rights organisation Living Rent as well as the No Evictions Campaign, who are working to prevent mass Evictions of asylum seekers from their housing provided by the Home Office and Serco through a number of private landlords. He is opposed by Jackie Baillie (alongside Union Jack suit wearing UK deputy leader candidate Ian Murray) who has came out in support of Labour Councillors in Aberdeen who entered into a coalition with the Tories and have since been suspended by the party.

Its a complete mess and Labour in Scotland is on the verge of extinction due to administrative positions being held by members in thrall to a military industrial complex that requires UK state investment in order to survive.

Don't think there is anywhere else in the UK like it, would love to hear if there is though!

Wait wait. The former seat of Michael Martin, the first Catholic Speaker of the HoC since the reformation, is now being run by Orange Order types? lol

From current COVID-19 survivors, you're looking at an average of 10 days in hospital, if you're hospitalised.

Scotland's NHS bed capacity is only about 13,000.

Not all of those 210,000 are gonna be all at once, it's likely this would be spread over maybe 12 months, but that's still going to out a MASSIVE strain on the NHS, and it's in better condition up here than down south.

Don't just go to a drat chapo live show and quote lines at face value with feigned horror to create a news piece, it just sounds silly and desperate

The more important question is why Cum Town (assuming that's THE NAME THAT CANNOT BE PRINTED, come on nyt it's obviously latin) is apparently a leftist thing. Oh, & blackballing is back

You got me reading about union busters online & I came across this hell article on a hell site: https://blog.unionproof.com/union-buster-stop-using/

"Union-buster is a divisive term, once meant to rally workers but now used to accuse employers who are often operating with the best interests of their employees in mind. It conjurers up images of strike-breaking and suggests that those who champion a union-free operating environment are “bad guys” who will do anything to keep employees down, including violence or other illegal activities. It implies a divide-and-conquer mindset, where union-free businesses and labor organizations are just out to destroy each other. But in a global economy, where companies seek out the best talent to help the business succeed, that kind of divisiveness has no place and will not help anyone succeed."

Yes! There is an abandoned one of their halls round the corner from me - it's incredibly creepy because it has no windows and weird signs about "Brethrens Meeting Place". Turns out they are weird and culty and don't let women in the cult talk to outsiders. Who knew.

I only found out about them because the hall is a pokestop lol

Back when I was 4 or 5 we lived in a place that wasn't even a village, there were 20 houses in a mile radius or something. Anyway, I was an incredibly sociable & friendly kid (how things change) & turns out that there were...not sure if they were Plymouth Brethern or some offshoot of them but they were the nicest family. A lot of kids of varying ages but they were all incredibly friendly & not in a culty way at all. Well, according to my faint memories, we're talking 30 years ago. At some point one of their kids was being baptised & my mum, me & sister were invited along. My sister would have been about 18 months old and did toddler stuff like crying and they were so good and patient and just very "let kids be kids" which was so loving different to when my own cousin got baptised in the Church of Scotland church my grandparents attended and it was all "how dare your baby make noises on this solemn occasion?" and my mam ended up having to go outside with her.

Dunno what my point is really, except that at least to a 5 year old they were by far & away the nicest Christians I've ever had any experience with. And definitely did let their women talk to outsiders. But there's also "Open" & "Exclusive" sects & the Reeves definitely weren't "Exclusive" going by what I've read.
