Pete will get sec state in the Biden cabinet and do an unfathomably bad job of it, war crimes and all, before running against Biden in the 2024 primary, and becoming the front runner in 2028 on a platform of 'Its My Turn Now'.

Further proof that the Butte campaign management and the DNC Venn diagram is basically a circle. Warren supporters are going to have to think very hard about voting Bernie, or risk getting Reagan II - Blue Tie Edition.

Good healthcare isn't going to help you when you're over 70. I think we've already had one senior cark it over here and we have great free health care* *Life-threatening or disabling injuries only, otherwise welcome to the waiting list. No dental.

I'm not American, but I'm guessing no. He's leading Sanders by about 80 delegates last I checked, and the only way the DNC were ever going to let Sanders have the nom is if he had more than half of the delegates. 1991+ Biden would basically have to stop winning conservative states at this point for that to happen, so even if the bernster pulls ahead, it seems unlikely that the inevitable brokered convention would give him the Nom. Even if Biden has a stroke, they will likely bring in a 3rd candidate to run (and lose).

piL posted:I really do love the idea of military / war simulators that simulate the non-tactical aspects of war. I always thought an interesting game would be a King of Dragon Pass style adventure as a platoon commander or whatever trying to keep your soldiers on point and focused on the mission or training and not freaking out about being sent to a foreign warzone to die or going all warcrimes. Or an FTL game where instead of fighting bad guys, your objectives were to run a department while also considering the professional development and mental condition of your crew. Maybe go the whole game with one or two combats, including a potential blue-on-blue you have to defuse. So like Theme Hospital, but instead of a hospital administrator, you're a platoon CO in First Cav? Someone should make this.

I mean surely there's something to be said for focusing your attention on the states that your party has a chance in hell at winning in the general. It's great that Joe is more popular in Alabama, but it's not going to matter when the entire state stays red and the rust belt votes for trump again. If the primary system were more attuned to who had the best electoral prospects, maybe you wouldn't be in this mess.

SimonCat posted:That's what's really frustrating about Joe's "I'm a bridge to the candidates standing behind me" comment. If you want them to be in control, step down! I mean he pretty narrowly missed being impeached for a bunch of crimes, is hated by probably more people worldwide than anyone since Dubya, and possibly already has corona virus. On the other side of the coin, the only alternatives on offer are a choice between an 80 year old socialist and a republican who put on the wrong coloured tie some time back in the 1960s and just decided to go with it, who also happens to be experiencing some serious cognitive decline, so I get the pessimism. Crazy how even with a population of 372 million, the democrats can't find a candidate that's likely to survive a full two terms.
