As a baker, I should really start a thread listing all the hosed up bakes people are putting on the internet. This bread is a travesty inside and out.

I was a baker for almost 10 years. That looks fine. Maybe a little more proofing and definitely another few minutes in the oven. I assure you I've baked and shipped worse than that.

I will admit I am out of touch with this generation of consoles, but aren't the PS4 and PS4 pro the same thing? Isn't that like saying "Random Xbox 360 game isn't exclusive, because the 360 had ~10 different versions. So that's 10~ different consoles it runs on!"

Sorry to go back to the Amanda Palmer chat, but does anyone have a link to what she's talking about here? I listened to the entirety of that very mediocre album and didn't catch anything. I listened to the song she specifically mentioned in the replies; "Blake Says" very carefully and didn't hear anything like what she's talking about.

Timestamp is at around 5:10

Edit:

It's important to know that she completely skips over the fact that the album in question was released when she was 32. "I did a really lovely thing when I was 18 and I regret it. But I had no problems using it to make money a dozen years later."

I mean, the dude thinks Starship Troopers functions as an endorsement of the society Starship troopers portrays. So Paul Verhoeven is too loving subtle for them.

This is a fairly well known complaint/issue? Starship Troopers doesn't really actively say "This is bad and dumb."

American History X also almost has the same problem. It never really says why racist ideology is bad, and just presents the racist values with no argument against the values themselves. But at least it shows the racists as turds, unlike Starship Troopers fascists who are constantly portrayed as cool and good.

If you don't do anything to actually shoot down what your satirizing, you can't be too surprised when some people take away the wrong message. Especially people who are predisposed to see fascists as cool and good.

I'm not saying it has to be made for the dumbest person in the room, I'm just saying you can't be too surprised when somebody takes away the message they want to see when you let them do that.

I think it was a Steve Shives video that cited some research saying conservatives liked Colbert Report because they believed he was saying things they agreed with in a funny way. Whereas liberals found it funny because of the absurdity of it all, which was the intended method of enjoyment.

I've never seen a conservative say that dying in a war is the bravest and most important thing you can do for your country. Nope, never seen a conservative say that before.

Edit: Also where did I say that I believe Starship Troopers is a piece of fascist propaganda? I merely said that it's a known thing about the movie.

Edit 2: Wait, didn't you recently go "You have to respect content warnings!!" immediately before or after you said "drat, I wish SA was still full of assholes who stalked and harrassed people like the good ol' days!"

That is a core belief that people do have. That being blown up and dismembered for your country is cool and good. Where most would look at that and go "lol, gently caress no." Some go "Exactly :patriot:"
