How do you get bored in tyool 2020? There's books, movies, games, hobbies...oh, and the entire fuckin internet. Imagine if this had happened in the 80s or 70s, or any other decade where you didn't have everything the internet can offer.

When I was a kid in the eighties / nineties there were maybe 4-5 good games you'd consider buying in any given year, maybe 2-3 you'd actually buy because $50 was a lot more then than now, and you played that poo poo into the ground. Retailers kept high flying games on the shelves for years sometimes.

Now it's a constant flood of poo poo and something new comes out every twenty minutes and everything feels kind of disposable.

I'm going absolutely crazy being stuck at home, I enjoyed going to the office and I genuinely enjoy seeing my coworkers and bullshitting.

Given what's going on with high BP being a risk factor I probably should not drink this month because my BP is high and that'll lower it. Plus generally just not depressing my immune system.

its incredibly hard to watch all this stuff unfold because we only have "normal" times to contextualize what is happening

there are ways around a problem like this, but we will have to take unprecedented actions... things like socializing utilities, hospitals, banks and possibly even rolling services like ups/fed-ex into the post office

the only way we get through is by accepting that nobody is going to get out of this richer and cutting deals to keep everyone more or less whole through the disaster - this will likely mean a lot of debts disappearing since the alternative would be far more damaging and long-lasting

its literally socialism or bust

Forty years of propaganda have convinced people that the government is incapable of mobilizing to meet a threat and that to do so would be immoral anyway.
