yeah they ran an ad for an anime promoting a cult and all the staff instinctively doubled down on it and got really mad at people making fun of them. the dude who translated dies irae got a quick joke in at their expense, nothing mean, and the response was for multiple ann staff members to accuse him of being a nazi who translated a vn that promoted hatecrimes.

eh. the former is kind of true, but at the end of the day anime comes out when the production committees want them to come out. if they're giving the project more money they're more likely to be invested enough to give it more time if the staff say they need it, but the cause and effect there is reversed. the latter is true, though there's an issue of there being people free to even hire. there's so much anime being made these days that most freelance animators of basically any skill are usually booked for months in advance. there's outsourcing to foreign countries of course, but that comes with its own time and quality issues.
