I have cracked open the watermelon wheat I bought today ("Hell or High Watermelon Wheat" from 21st Amendment brewery), raising my glass in a toast to Doctor Dogballs' birthday it's light, refreshing, very summery. the watermelon flavor is mostly in the aftertaste, it shines through for just a moment, not particularly sweet but distinctive.

more falafel please posted:yeah I've been around for two cycles of the 17 year cicadas and we should have another one in like 4 years. we pretty much always get some cicadas in the hot months of summer, July and August basically the sound of cicadas in hot weather is a huge memory from childhood. we got them every year I guess. a shaking like a castanet, a rising and a falling. but in those days I didn't get a shitload of bugs flying straight into me, the experience of a brood just going everywhere all at once is intense.

hello tc, chiming in on radiohead. they are a sometimes thing for me, sometimes they hit really amazingly well and sometimes I find them hard to listen to for too long. my favorite track by them is one that has wormed its way into my head for some reason, I play it in my mental radio a lot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6ZkWBjgnIY part of me thinks it's got several intentional references to t.s. eliot's the waste land, and part of me thinks maybe that's just coincidence . . . not trashin' quite yet but I have a date with an edible in a bit!
