I kinda dipped into watching medieval history and weaponry channels and I wish I had searched this thread for talk of Shadiversity before I started watching his channel after seeing it listed in the first post. I also enjoy Jason Kingsley's content at ModernHistoryTV. The subject of one of his recent videos is a medieval hand cart he had made and he just seemed so enamored and smitten with it and the sound it made as it trundled along.

I don't know if this is the place for it but I watch the channels NileRed/NileBlue and I remember on a podcast the guy says he makes sure to make noise during his videos for the "ASMR freaks" or something to that effect. This includes clinking of lab glassware and such. He's said he's had to do several takes of parts of videos to make sure to slide the beakers and flasks just right on table surfaces or make sure a flask is empty enough so the clink of the magnetic stir bar is audible on the video. Anyhow, ever since I watched that podcast, I can't help but notice how loud he is with making racket and slamming doors and such.

The furtive Nioh...so easily forgotten. I know it isn't a From game but I never hear about it and I'm curious about y'all's opinions. I'm bad at Souls games (I've only played and beaten DS1 and DS2) and Nioh was easy to kinda limp your way through so I had a lot of fun with it for the most part. It's pretty ignorable on base NG but you still end up with an assload of trash you need to dump after each mission. I had forgotten about this part of Nioh. Yeah, I never interacted at all with that system nor the blacksmith that let you create weapons because there didn't seem like much point in it when I just found decent stuff and equipped what I found going through the game normally. I also didn't use the stance system all that much. I just liked whipping my kusarigama around at fools. I remember the DLC being gently caress-off hard and I didn't even finish the first mission I don't think.

The worst thing about DS2 is that it doesn't have cloud saves on PC and I've lost my save after doing nearly everything in the game twice now. Yes I know skill issue, git gud, etc. At least it means I get to play it again. Not having cloud saves on Steam should be against the law. So this actually is about online creators and not just furthering the Dark Souls derail, and kinda tie into a bunch of recent posts: supergreatfriend is LP'ing that VR 7th Guest game that I didn't know existed. I found this Youtube channel of some people that still do the horror host schtick introducing movies of questionable quality with interstitial breaks/bits. (think Elvira or Joe Bob Briggs) It's terribly cheesy but I'm glad there are people keeping that alive. Cave Story is one of the most perfect games ever made and it's time for me to do my semi-regular playthrough of it. It even had a port on the GP2X that you bet your rear end I played through multiple times on that too. edit: I just found out that the person that ported Cave Story to the GP2X is an Austrian teacher who was one of the lead programmers for Binding of Isaac, also ported Cave Story to the DS and did a bunch of ports of Nicalis' game Nightsky. I want to thank whoever it was in this thread that suggested the channel Quinn's Quest. I've always been fascinated with tabletop games but have always been on the periphery of them with friends that played but never actually playing them myself so I like having a channel that will give an overview of different ones and talk about why they are cool and worth playing or appreciating.
