Yeah the whole "make agents waste time until they go home" thing made sense on paper, but in practice just ended with seven agents standing around confused blocking my entrance door open and allowing more people to just waltz inside :cripes: it's so much easier to just stay at yellow alert and have your guards light up anyone not wearing a jumpsuit even if you WANT to run a low heat stealth base

I sigh and press the Jubei button as one of my minions once again lets a squad of robbers into the vault while looking for a place to smoke

The original was very bold to gate important technology and traps behind a research system where you basically blindly mashed stuff together and hoped for the best but I'd be lying if I said I didn't go look up a published list of combinations every single playthrough so I can see why they'd change it.

Yeah on paper it's a cool idea and I liked it, in practice I just mashed the pay money to not interact with this button :v:

A complaint I saw was someone saying their stations frequently go unstaffed, which sounds immediately fixable by using the punch clock from the first game, has anyone seen if they took that out or something? (No hate on the reviewer of course, if they didnt play EG1 that's easily missable, I just want to make sure my usual bullshit still works)

You have to respect that even after being promoted to running his own evil organization, Ivan is still more than willing to shoot rockets at random enemy agents.

Like, literally, you HAVE to respect it. Otherwise he'll shoot rockets at you.

I'm still torn between playing as Max again, or getting The Boys back together by playing as Ivan and hiring Jubei and Eli('s son). I love how much the devs at Rebellion clearly loved the first game :3: it really shows

You can just draw a too-big room then shrink it down after placing the objects. But yeah it's kind of a pain - another thing that's a pain (always is in games like this) is for example not being able to afford setting up all of my corridors right away because I can't afford it, then being forced to build rooms on a side of my base I don't want them in  I just Cheat Engined myself an extra 100k at the start to place corridors

I will say at the very least, changing your base layout is infinitely more easy/actually possible this time around. I love these vacuum pack things all the minions carry around

Thanks for the ideas, gonna rework some things already. You noticed how there's a door next to that dish right of the helipad? Is that accessible from any of the floors, or just decoration? It's even consuming power.

It's a door enemy agents can come in from, I think the cave on the ocean level below it is where agents go in to come through that door. Boy was I surprised when No Fun Allowed Olga came storming over that bridge for the first time

Got real confused about the black lady roasting me while some white dude in shorts tried to sneak into my base, before realizing she's M and that gormless white dude is the new John Steele. I honestly thought it loaded the wrong model since I thought SHE was the new John Steele.

Plus Eli 360 noscoped him before he got inside and he was incinerated before she was finished talking. How the hell is SABRE still a superpower

I like to imagine she's just getting randos off the street and hoping she lucks into one of them becoming a natural. If they fail at least you dont have to pay them

E: a decent way of dealing with investigators before valets is to just open the door and let them take pictures. Call the police do I look like I give a gently caress I've got building to do and I literally dont have time to incinerate your corpses

Do super agents raise heat on the map? I had a sector running a heat reduction mission with Olga standing on it, and it still managed to gain heat until hitting 100 and locking down

When an investigator leaves carrying heat, does it transfer to a random zone under their FoJ's control?

Anyone figure out what specifically makes loot side stories disappear? My best guess is when new ones are added (say, after a main quest is done), if theres a bunch already, the new ones will replace some of the old ones.

Also does the meteor do anything besides look dope? Like, that's enough for me, but I want to know if I should put it somewhere soecific

Danaru

What exactly does HAVOC do? It doesnt seem to even raise heat much, although once I saw it give a heatless mission for 100k, that was nice. Only once though

I had John Steele stuck in jail for like three hours, it's right by my guard room, so every time theres a jail break, my guards all pile in and light him the gently caress up with stun bullets.

Unfortunately after interrogating a robot, it exploded and Steele once again escaped during the chaos. Then Ivan immediately ate him.

It was nice having a super agent off the world map for a little bit, at least
