I'm interested to see how this show is going to differentiate between itself and Dark, and what Dark is going to be once Elevation establishes itself. It feels like they might be going for a pre-brand NXT-when-it-was-good vibe, and then I guess OG Dark is full jobber city.

Cody gets the HHH comparison because he's a booker who books himself. It really ends there though, because he keeps himself at a midcard gatekeeper level, puts people over regularly, and isn't deathly afraid of looking weak or vulnerable.

Hell, dude booked himself to lose an intergender match with a retired basketball celebrity which was actually a stealth vehicle to get two women over.

they had a great match and great chemistry, Cutler needs a program already aside from "The guy who runs out for The Bucks"

I was thinking it's kinda weird how "video game enthusiast" is the AEW champion and "tabletop enthusiast" is at the bottom of the card. They need to push Cutler and hire an anime weeb jobber to round out the nerd hierarchy.

I really hope they give TH2 more to do on Dynamite because they're both great talents, and the character work is cracking me up lately. Dirtbag Jack is great, and Angelico doing his jerky little dance makes me laugh for some reason.

I think I've seen more solid grappling on AEW than WWE recently. The Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns match on Fastlane was pretty good though.
I checked out Balor/Dunne on the last(?) NXT PPV, and that had a ton of mat work. But yeah, AEW's good at showcasing a lot of styles instead of homogenizing them into a universal AEW style.

Seeing Dark Order in the daylight reminds me of something Henry Rollins once said about seeing Marilyn Manson play at an outdoor festival:

"There's all this smoke and corpse paint and intensity, but in the daytime it just looks like a bunch of dead guys having a cookout."
