Personally I wanna take it as her being shocked into a chuckle from something so out of nowhere when she thought the bit they were doing was Willie doing a woman voice. The worse way to take it as Dasha finding it funny, but at least knowing that this poo poo can't fly at work even when she thought they weren't being heard. Dasha sounded incredulous, like she was laughing just because she was stunned he was doing that. I wouldn't hold this one against her too much.

What you guys are describing usually culminates in a ref getting pulled out of the ring rather than a kickout, which I hope does not happen because NJPW has made me soooooo sick of that spot.

I don't think I have anything fewer than three stars and I had like four 4+ matches on that PPV, but I have to bitch about a couple things. - I went into the three-way with just one hope. I just had one request. I just wanted them to do one thing for me. And that was DON'T do the Dick Togo spot. And they loving did the Dick Togo spot. It almost ruined the match for me. Finish was cool though. I'd like to see Omega do singles with both of these guys now. - They gotta do something about these battle royales. The finishing stretches are always great (because the finishing stretches are just Jungle Boy going nuts) and I really dig Lio Rush if he is in fact All Elite, but the middle portions of these matches are R O U G H to get through and people always dunk on the Joker because people expect every mystery person to be one of Punk/Lesnar/Bryan/Samoa Joe and that's not fair to the promotion but it's also not fair to the talent coming in in these spots that everybody sees them as disappointing for not being one of those guys. The psychology of "OH WOW IT'S LIO RUSH HE'S IN AEW WOW!" going to "ah he has been eliminated" like two minutes later isn't great, either. But yeah I really enjoyed that PPV. Jungle Boy vs. Omega should kick rear end.

So, here's a thought. I thought that the title shot in the casino battle royale would be for Fyter Fest or maybe the big Miami show in July. But it's in two weeks, so it'll be in Daly's Place. Y'think there's any chance the original winner was supposed to be Christian and they called an audible?

Drakkel posted:A stellar show on almost every level, but I have one problem: the story of Britt Baker winning the title. This part is absolutely right. It really started up after the Lights Out match, it's loving weird the way they push Britt. Like, to a point, yea ok is right, you should just let people react how they want to react, but the big push AEW made out of that match was how awesome Britt Baker was and how much rear end she kicked, except, she lost. And they pretty much completely stopped acknowledging Thunder Rosa's existence on TV after that match, which, she won. It's like they put Rosa over and then after the match, decided to just pretend that Britt had won. And the way they did this 100% undercut Shida as a babyface champion. It's weird, man.

Also I dunno if I buy that Rosa vanished off the face of the Earth because of Corgan. If only because Rosa cut a very passionate promo right after the show and it never made it to TV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mBJbPG_5ik&t=65s Instead of having her say this on TV, the fallout of the match the next week was 100% centered on Britt. I'm sorry, I think that's really weird and I don't think Corgan is responsible for it. MotU posted:agree on the looking like every other guy part. its cool to see that ogogo can do other stuff than punch but he shouldnt. every move should be a set up for a punch. rip cord punches, pop up punches, diving punches, shooting star punch etc etc etc Luckily, that second one is his finisher, so he's gonna be doing that a lot.

StarkRavingMad posted:so what are you on about with all this they pushed her in a really weird way stuff I'm on exactly what I'm loving saying. Coming out of the Lights Out match, they basically erased Thunder Rosa from the canon and pushed and presented Britt in a way that got Shida less over and made her beating Shida basically a foregone conclusion. And I find that really weird, because Britt's a heel and Shida's a babyface. I keep saying "weird" because I don't even necessarily think it's bad booking, I don't think it's bad to strongly book the person you want to make your champion and focus the division around her, I just think it's weird, given the alignments of the respective characters and the way it negatively affected the current champion. It's not some kind of dog whistle. I just think it's weird. Like, okay. Look at it this way. Championship match. There's a babyface and a heel. The heel's manager interferes. The babyface gets nailed with a foreign object. This is not the finish. The match continues. The heel eventually wins, clean, with a wrestling move. Kenny Omega and Don Callis are the biggest pieces of garbage in the world. Britt Baker gets roses thrown at her feet. flatluigi posted:i feel like the implication is that they're being racist but i think that's part of my default considerations when people are being extremely cagey about accusations That's a really loving lovely thing to say.

sticklefifer posted:Thunder Rosa still consistently has awesome matches and Britt was doing a long-term Dark/Elevation thing to get into the rankings, while Shida's had several title defenses and plenty of people were saying they wanted Shida to win or predicted a double-turn. Just because you say Thunder Rosa was "erased" a bunch of times doesn't make it more true. Nobody erased anybody. You just see something different, and that's fine, but you're copping an attitude about people disagreeing. Bro, she's wrestled one two minute match on Dynamite since the Lights Out match.

NWA has a midcard belt where if you retain it seven times, you get a world title shot, also the time limit for matches is 10 minutes. I don't necessarily think AEW should have that but I think it's kinda cute.
