Back to the previous conversation: I also love that Sammy didn't give a poo poo that MJF was begging him off and hit him anyway.

And the story there is for as much as you hate MJF - he actually is really loving tough.

He won't be very good at putting Sammy Guevara over once they have their match, that's for sure.

It's all good. He's a great hand. Don't let the heels cheating get you down too much you put too much stock in that. It honestly feels like ptsd from WWE. You complained about the elite always winning but they lost in a great fashion tonight. I promise AEW won't let you down :).

Also let's not overlook the great segments tonight with the Dark Order and their mission to make Adam Page believe in himself again.

Contrast Adam being angry with his friends when it came to the Elite vs The Dark Order. God damned great storytelling

That women's match was so weird. I was fully expecting Vicky to finally make her announcement and reveal that someone was replacing her in the match. Also seems weird to have Britt playing the cowardly heel role while Nyla plays the monster heel role. I can already hear Bryan Alvarez screaming about not knowing who to root for. I suppose at least their characters were consistent though, and the crowds really want to root for Britt anyway. Kind of reminds me of how NoD Rock started to get cheers while still being a heel.

AEW does the there are no heels or faces thing better because they have characters. Even when you have 2 heels go against each other their characters will stay consistent.

JR is very vocal that the only thing that keeps him alive/makes life worth living after his wife's death is being on commentary.

Right. I feel real bad for JR. And at least he's tried in his old ways to be a good person. He's there and he treats people well. Let him do commentary for a good company until he can't anymore.

Wow look at that AEW is still a good product - it's remarkable

I really don't mind the critiques of AEW but I swear it feels like a lot of them are overblown. Some people seem way too angry for the complaint and other complains seem way overblown.

But that's just like my opinion man.

that mostly sucked, and especially that reba got all hosed up and needs a shoot crutch now but otherwise that was just a stellar show that moved a lot of stuff along and had its own big moments.

the bucks porn staches are my new favorite thing in wrestling and eddie and penta finally putting a chink in the armor of the elite rocked. frankie kazarian looked like a god drat superhero watching from the raised platform in the back. i love that setup of dailys place for that little extra balcony.

i really liked uno's promo with kenny and it started off something that really gives the dark order like a serious story to work with. they all believe in hangman and support him yeah, but... kenny's right about them speaking out of turn for him. i just really love how like, invested the whole story with hangman and the aew title is and its gonna be so awesome when he finally gets it.

miro and pillman was a really fun obvious underdog match, and miro is just incredible right now, i really like the idea behind the new theme but it sounds a little... mushy on tv idk id need to hear it a cpl more times but it could use a little tweaking imo. it feels like he could be tnt champion forever, and then double champ, and then tag champs by himself.

and good god that main event was something else. that was a main event wrestling match. im really sad that sammy didn't win but like, he looked absolutely incredible in that match and he absolutely didnt come out looking worse. i kinda figured he was losing after mjf pre-emptively challenged jericho anyway.

oh and i really liked the sting/darby/ethan page thing this week, how bout that! and jungle jack v my boyfriend jack evans was good too! great show.

What's also great for Hangman is you've seen him put on some great matches, beat some big names. So you know he can win. He just needs to be in the right mindset.

I still can't believe Cody snuck in a clip of his stupid gender reveal party into the Daily's Place montage like it was a big important moment on the level of Brodie's memorial.

Nobody should care about gender reveals. Nobody should have gender reveals. That segment wasn't significant in the least to Dynamite's tenure at Daily's.

On the flip side - Cody is a great guy who has been there for a grieving family and hasn't made the show just about him like Jeff Jarrett did in TNA so he can have it.

A lot of this concern for JR's health comes across as false. It feels more like an excuse and what you really want is him out the booth and replaced. The man has earned this spot and he'll be gone sooner rather than later. He's said it is literally the one thing keeping him alive after his wife was killed. Let him have it.

Thinking about it it's really weird that Shida hasn't been on TV since she lost but is still wrestling on dark. I mean, why haven't we heard from her? Does she care she lost the title? Shouldn't she be mad she carried it all the way through the pandemic and lost it the first time crowds came back?

It would be one thing if she had just completely disappeared, ready to make a shock appearance. But she's wrestling normally on dark, so I guess she's not important any more? It's kinda hosed up, and bad storytelling, and I feel sorry she's been so thoroughly relegated and forgotten.

Aew has been pretty consistent with this. The only champ that continued their fued was Mox

There is no good reason for him to not win. I don't see how the story would be heightened. The only reason he wouldn't win is if he kicks out of the OWA, loses and there was someone else to be the next champ but honestly I don't see anyone else as ready as Hangman.

Honestly AEW's biggest problem is they have a lot of stuff I want to see more of and not enough tv time to do it all. I think the women's division gets the shaft more than the others but I'm hopeful these problems will be fixed once Rampage starts up.

I think Big Bicep Tony's learned his lesson on over-hyping/under-delivering. The big surprises were Big Show, Christian, and Mark Henry, the big matches were the exploding deathmatch and Wargames and they both under-delivered but they've had so many great matches on TV plus non-advertised debuts like Mox.

I wouldn't agree that Wargames under delivered. I really enjoyed it. At the very least I wouldn't say that is a universal opinion. And I really liked the death match as a whole and the bad explosion didn't ruin it for me.
