The episodes are still massively padded and jokes get run into the ground, but at least it's mean more visually creative, filling in gaps from the manga, and every few episodes has sone combination of good directors and animators to make some moments really shine

It gets easier to understand past that though, and Is overall a worthwhile watch.

There are lots of cute and fluffy moments in the show alongside the heavy stuff. The only negative I can say is that it'll leave you wanting for more after s2, and you'll have to read the manga for that.
